Debate over. Andre Ward is the greatest SMW ever, well clear of Calzaghe.

H2H Roy Jones Jr would have obliterated Ward, but Ward IS the greatest supermiddleweight in terms of resume.

Good post, Ward is a hometown fighter, if he ever stepped up to the plate and fought in europe then i think Groves, Degale, and Cleverly would all beat him, maybe even Tony Bellew. Anyone who has watched Wards career knows exactly what Boone did to him.

Look how overated a hometown fighter like Bute was until he stepped up to the plate and fought in europe. Groves, Degale, and Cleverly all beat froch imo, and Froch was only eaked out of a tight decision in Oakland by Ward, with Ward tiring down the home stretch.

It all depends whether Ward has the ambition to improve himself, does he want to keep fighting infront of tiny crowds in oaklands or does he want to prove he's the best in britain fighting infront of 30,000+ crowds?

Ward has caught up with Calzaghe thanks to the win over Dawson.

Surpassed him? No, not yet, but I expect him to.

I voted Calzaghe, based on the number of title defenses and the quality of said defenses (some of Wards best wins Calzaghe already beat prime versions of), but in terms of talent Ward seems much better. I believe if Ward stays in the division a few more years and continues to dominate, he will surpass joe in terms of greatness in the division.

Calzaghe's best win was over Kessler.

All 4 of those fighters are not close to Ward. The fights would almost be pointless. 168 is a historically weak division and is far stronger now than it ever has been. Your the biggest fanboy douche on this entire forum. You single handedly out do all of the Bute Bandits and *******s with your nonsense.

Ward has a much better resume than Chalzaghe ever had.

So your Calz hate has carried on to your modern day username, eh Pops? Calzaghe still could beat Ward regardless of whether Ward has past him or not. One thing for sure is that Ward doesn't need fixed refs to get ko's but Calz still beat Bika better and beat Kessler without fouling him.

I say lets enjoy Ward while he's still here because incredibly few fighters of this era have the vast knowledge or live up to their potential as he does. Legend in da making in his current prime hate his style or not. As far as personality, who gives a **** are you ***gots trying to **** him lol? Guy does what he needs to do in there as far as hitting without getting hit and fighting the best nuff said.

I believe he is talking about accomplishment at the weight. While Ward would probably beat the best Calzaghe, he wouldn't beat the best Jones Jr. Jones was faster, had power in both hands, great left hook, great jab, great lead right hand, and great unorthodox boxing ability, good chin back then as well. He would punish Ward.
