Lucas Matthysse vs Carlos Maidana ?

Maidana is a hype job who failed to demonstrate his supposed power at the top level.

Matthyse is probably the number 3 lww today behind only Garcia and JMM.

Lucas dominates him.

 

Garcia is as hopeless against Matthysse as Maidana is. Expect him to duck and dodge that fight after his super important Morales rematch

 

Lucas has considerably better technique as a boxer-puncher, but Maidana has that unpredictability and raw aggression that I think could make the difference. People are seriously underrated him nowadays after a bad performance.

 

I said the same thing before the Alexander fight. Maidana is just a crude slugger. He has power, so he can get lucky, but most good fighters would beat him because he lacks so much skill. He's Mayorgo-lite.

It does put this whole Maidana vs Mathysse in a more realistic perspective .
Problem is Maidana is now a welterweight if not more , which helps 2 explain his latest bad showings @ 140 .

1) fact is that his last fight was @ 147
2) his next scheduled fight is @ 147 if not 154

Right now , Maidana @ 140 = Dawson @ 168 .

I guess d loss was not due 2 him fighting @ a weight 2 high 4 him , even if he lacks d size advantage that he got used 2 having .

And if it really is due 2d weight being 2 high , then still keep my claim of 140 being 2 low 4 him .

He lost , but so far just decisions , and may still have a future @ 147 as far as i m concerned .

4d mone? Golden Boy are probably happy to feed him to fighters they see as more lucrative prospects. All I know is he said himself 147 wasn't his weight class
