I thought he could have went on as the cut seemed to not really bother his vision

however that said the fight wasnt close or competitive and probably wouldnt have gone much longer

so as much as it sucks that the fight ended that way it shouldnt be all that controversial

Charr actually is lucky, he got a pay day, exposure, didnt take the kind of beating most Klitschko victims take, if he can avoid losing again maybe he will get a shot at the WBC when Vitali vacates it and this time will have an easier opponent

he was going to take a Briggs-type beating, he shouldn't complain about the stoppage, though I guess most guys would of wanted to go on fighting

all in all, this will be a topic for some time to come

based on his enthusiasm no i dont think it should have been stopped at least not at that point, keep a tight lid on his condition see how much blood is dripping into his eye. maybe stop it the next round if things don't change.

oh and for the record i think the lewis stoppage was appropriate and vitaly was likely going to lose that fight or have preminent eye demage if it went on. however i also believe that Lewis shouldn't have taken the easy way out and trained for the 2nd fight and made it happen.

these are my two cents... and i am a big klitschko fan.

Charr was landing damn near 40percent of his punches in rounds 3 and 4..right before the stoppage he had vitali going backwards and landing

But he was also eating some nice rights in the process

not saying i agree with the stoppage but lets not pretend Charr had a chance

    ^ This.

He started really slowly (and carefully) but was definitely opening up, and landing, as the fight progressed.

    Anyway, to answer the OP:

Is there anyone who DOESN'T realize it was a premature stoppage? Why is this even up for debate? The ring doctor was obviously paid well to do whatever he could to help Vitali get out of there safely.

30 seconds after the stoppage, once Charr's corner had simply wiped his face, he was no longer bleeding. At all.

    End of discussion.

The fight should have been stopped well before the ring walk.

he was eating punches with his face, this would have taken it's toll, what he was landing on Vitali had absolutely no power behind it, though the stoppage wasn't the best in my view

oh, going back to the Lewis fight, it was a good stoppage, Vitali could of gone blind for life had the fight gone
