No. I doubt Vitali was happy it was stopped either. Maybe the cut was lower on the eyelid than can be discerned from the pictures, or maybe it was just a shitty ultra-conservative Euro doc.

Just to address dumbass haters saying Vitali looked terrible: he abandoned defense because he had ZERO respect for Charr's power. He put on a show and didn't mind (probably enjoyed) getting hit to deliver his own shots. The same people who want 'competitive' Klitschko fights where they get hit are the ones crying about Vitali looking terrible now.

Vitali-Lewis was a good stoppage. As a boxing fan, it's always tragic when a good, competitive fight gets stopped by a cut, though. Who didn't want to see more?

No. They should give the cutman time to work on the cut and give Charr some more rounds. Vitali was cut badly more badly than Charr in round 3 and they give him 3 more rounds before the fight was stopped. And Vitali did not accept it!

how many significant punches did Vitali eat? one, two? he had absolutely no respect for Charr's power, and he didn't have to have any, Vitali landed the crisper, harder punches and had the fight gone on he would of taken Charr apart

if he fought Haye, believe me, he would be much more wary because Haye has decent pop in both hands

Fight shouldn't have been stopped at that point, but don't bring on the bull like Charr had any chance in there.
Like said, this shouldn't have been stopped in the 4th, it should have been stopped from happening at all. I've seen him fight 3 times (before Vitali), and 2 of those wins were blatant robberies.

It's nice to land 40% of your punches, but if you only trow 10 it still is only 4 punches landed. Audley probably scored 100% of his shots in the Haye fight (the only punch he trew in 3 rounds), but that doesn't say he was in the fight.

The fight should of been allowed to continue for a few more rounds to give the cut man a chance to work on the cut. The cut was in a bad spot and was getting into Charr's eye, I understand that, but give him a few more rounds to try and pick up the pace and act on urgency.

Personally, I didn't see anything from Charr to indicate he would of done something, other than take more punishment. But he still should of been given a chance to eliminate doubt.

He should have been allowed to fight on for a while. At the very least he should have finished the round so his corner could have a go at it

    Yea, I agree with this

It was disappointing it was stopped so quickly, though that cut was pumping out some good amounts of blood immediately. I don't think Charr had a chance as he was getting beat to the punch the whole fight.

The one thing that is perfectly clear to me though is this: Vitali is beatable now in this form. He really has started to look older in the ring in his last couple fights, and he really looked the part of old in this fight. Charr just didn't have the skills to expose it. I think Vitali knows this too and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he didn't fight again, and if he does, it will likely be another Charr type opponent. I think he would like to finish his career with a legit KO, but every time he steps in the ring now his chances go way up for finishing his career on a loss.
At this point I would pick Haye to beat him, Vitali is just too stiff and slow and his punches are not even close to as heavy as they once were.
