    TBooze - that was a *******! I know Patrick, have known him for over 20 years since before he won the ABAs in '92 at the Royal Albert Hall...actually shared a McDonald's with him and others (before the fight!!!) on the night of his ABA finals win...against Michael Alldis if I remember correctly!

    Another great fight from back in the day was the British lightweight title fight in '82, also at the RAH, Ray Cattouse v George Feeney; Feeney won in the 14th round and it seems like yesterday...the crowd gave the boxers a standing ovation BETWEEN rounds, that's how good it was...one of the best fights I've EVER seen live...

    That was Micky in the other corner, I was a friend of friend of Alldis and we went up there to cheer him on. I finally got to see him beat Mullings a few years later, although if memory serves me right Patrick got the last laugh.

    Mullings was a quality operator, after this fight (Oliver) he went on a superb run, and I thought he was looking better than Oliver. But then he was upset by that South African (who also flattened Alldis). Why did he quit? He certainly was young enough and good enough to continue at a British/Euro level.

    Prince Charles Williams VS Merqui Sosa 1st ( wasnt this brutal so stopped to save both fighters from unnecessary punishment !? Ruled a tech Draw)

    I never got to see all of that, as ITV (in London) decided to show the rounds Makathini dominated and then finish, missing the entire McCrory comeback...
