Mayweather would still win 10 rounds to 2.

He does'nt respect Marquez' power at 147 lbs. 130 lbs is a different matter. There, Marquez had better speed, strenghth within his divsion, and pop in his shots.

You keep saying Mayweather beat Marquez with skill, but its obvious he does'nt. If both had equal speed, quickness, strenghth, and punching power, Marquez would tear Mayweather a new *******!

Mayweather is great skillwise, but against fighters the caliber of Marquez, Mayweather would not be able to beat on just skillset alone.
.......speed, quickness, strenghth, power, height, reach.....these intangibles have nothing to do with actual boxing skill and know how, but they were the intangibles that Mayweather relied on to beat JMM at 147 lbs.
So just get out off here and stop your nonsense that Mayweather beat Marquez because he's better skilled.

Reverse the the physical attributes and have Marquez walk in with those against Mayweather? Mayweather would not have made the distance! :deal

Nacho Beristein said that the gap was not just in speed and power but skill too.

Nacho suggested that Floyd's natural ability combined with Marquez's conditioning problems and the size difference were what left him shut out. I've never read him suggest a large gap in skill.

He said there wasnt just a physical gap but a skill one. Im sure Nacho can agree Floyds never struggled against fighters the caliber of Freddie Norwood and Chris John, nor dropped by guys like Michael Katsidis.

Find the source and quote where Nacho said there was a considerable gap in skill between Mayweather and Marquez. (You do know he's favored Manny to beat Floyd, don't you?)

What you're "sure" about has no bearing on what Nacho Beristain has or has not factually said.

:bart JMM is overrated as ****, and has shamelessly made a career of chasing a fighter he has the bluprint on beating, while ducking everyone else

Exactly! A week or two before the fight, after Marquez was done throwing rocks to bulk up, and was in his speed phase of training, Nacho voiced his worries that Marquez was not at the speed level he needed to be to have a live chance vs Mayweather.
Of course Mayweather's defensive style presented a problem to gameplan against. Nacho determined Marquez had to be physically strong to hold his own on the inside, and have enough speed to get his shots off against an elusive fighter. Thats why Marquez was out throwing rocks.
Marquez skill level has never been a worry for Nacho.

Floyd would still win. The fight would have definitely been more competitive at a lower weight division. Floyd was a bit more reckless back then, but he was much more sharper offensively than he is now.
