Well see about that when Wilder stops beating up on bums Haye has done more in the same space that Wilder has in 25 fights : Deontay Wilders best opponent coming against Owen Beck who had lost his last 7 including a fight to a debuting fighter. Record stands at 25 - 0 (25 by KO) Haye in 25 fights has his record at 24-1 (22 KO) his only loss coming to World Champion Carl Thompson in his 11th fight. He won the European belt in his 16th fight and then beat Jean Marc Mormeck for the WBA and WBC titles in his 22nd bout and unifying with Enzo Maccerinelli in his next bout for the WBO before moving up in weight to beat Nikolay Valuev in his 24th fight for the WBA title. Deontay Wilder can punch but lets see him fight someone other than fat bin men (his last fight being against an obese former supermiddleweight who started his career at 161 and then ending up at 262)
Haye lost to a 40 year old carl thompspon..and if you count him as a "world champion" because of an IBO title, youre just a fanboy
David Haye. I really like Wilder and want him to do well (america needs another heavyweight destroyer to rebuild boxing in America). But if I had to be honest at this point in his career he's a disappointment. I don't honestly know what Mark Breland is doing with the guy but his jab is a range finder not a real jab. He can't box for ****. His head movement is none existent and he blows his ****ing load against any over-matched bum he hits with a punch. Someone seriously needs to straighten this guys head out or else he's going to get his ass ****ed up when he steps it up a level. He's trying to act like the second coming of tyson, acting like a thug at weigh-ins and press conferences and KOing guys so quickly. But the difference is Tyson had great fundamentals and respect for the game. This guys has a long way to go.
Huh? Have you watched most of his recent fights? You're very, VERY wrong here. Wilder's head movement is fantastic. Not good, fantastic. At times he looks like a tall Mayweather. You don't see it too often because it's rare for his opponents to actually attack him. His bout with Kelsey Arnold is a great example. His bout with DeAndrey Abron is also very impressive, though more for his body movement than head movement. In all seriousness, Ali never moved that fast. His jab (which he admitted last year was he big weakness) has gotten much better. And his left in general is becoming a weapon. (Ask Manswell.) He now has massive power in both hands. Finally: His best attribute is that he DOESN'T "blow his load." He very patiently waits for the right opportunity, then he finished with a "killer instinct" type of flurry. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a fighter that, when so superior to his tomato can opponents, still takes his time & doesn't take stupid chances. In fact, it's THIS attribute above all others that makes me think Wilder could be champ someday. check out his fight with David Long. Wilder was in control from the start, but he took his time, landed solid jabs (yes, jabs) and immediately pulled his head back, over & over. He could have just powered through Long, but instead he studied him for a bit, and only through the right when it was the perfect time. Granted, it was still over in less than 2 minutes, but that's what happens when you have 1-punch KO power. ------------------------- Seriously, dude, have you actually seen Wilder fight anyone except Dustin Nichols?
More interesting is who each fighter is going to fight during 2013? 2013 will probably reveal whether any Haye - DW match-up would be worthwhile or not. It's kind of a good point that Haye is going to be around in 2014 whether he is nominally retired or not. He can always come out of retirement. Both fighters seem to have found a way of avoiding fighting other highly ranked HWs.
