[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M2rhXHB1Ws[/ame] This is Prime Pavlik against an Old Hopkins. Prime Ward against shot recovering alcoholic Pavlik would be on the level of brutal that Vitali-Briggs and Mayweather-Gatti reached.
lets look at the facts 1) thread starter name is Peppermint 2) 3,000 posts and no avatar 3) and he "thinks" Ward would win a wide decision thats enough for me to know he isnt playing with a full deck of boxing insight
I'd rather see Pavlik have one more tune-up fight against Rodriguez or George then challenge either Froch, Abraham, Stieglitz or Kessler...whichever one has a belt and is willing to face him in the US.
Let's not jump the gun here. Edwin was a really good amateur and he looked good against George but he hasn't fought anyone like Pavlik. With that said, I'll agree that Rodriguez might be to good to be considered a "test". Andrade or Davis might be a bit more appropriate if he's looking for another tune-up before 2013.
Some feel Rodriquez got a gift against Rosinsky and there isn't a hand full of difference between the two. This would simply be sideways move for Pavlik at his point.
Ward does not hit hard enough to hurt Pavlik, and if you can't hurt KP, you have a serious problem. In addition, everytime Ward threw that patented head butt he'd catch a knee to the nuts and an elbow to the chin. Take note of the Froch fight: Ward stayed clean because he knew Carl would make him pay for his usual cheating. Kelly would do much better than Froch or Dawson because he is FAR more skilled than Carl, and a hell of a lot tougher than Dawson. This would no doubt be a much better fight than the fools on this thread seem to think it would.
Boo, Ward would turn him and maul him all night. i'm not sure Pavlik would be able to really land on Ward.
