Now that is it all over and done with I think even Chad is going to admit what happened. The weight no doubt had a huge affect on him.

Ward would have beaten him regardless. He is just that good. He will beat anyone at 168lbs and 175lbs. I have talked to a lot of fighters, trainers and promoters who have faced Ward and they ALL say the same thing, Ward is next to impossible to hit clean. That was Froch's biggest problem, no matter what he did he could not hit Ward. If you don't get hit your gonna win your fights. Not only does Ward have an incredible slick defense, he has an incredible offense and one of the most athletic fighters I have ever seen.

As far as a Dawson vs Miranda fight, sure I would watch that. Problem is there is no money for a fight like that. Maybe ESPN? You think Dawson is willing to get paid $15,000 after a $600,000 paycheck? I would favor Dawson over Miranda at 175lbs (even though Miranda whipped his ass in sparring ). But what does a win over Miranda mean at this point? Not sure what Dawson's future holds. I think he can make a decent comeback at 175lbs. Miranda on the other hand, he is done. At least he should be.

how many more rounds and knockdowns is sufficient for him to quit? he was in round 10, knocked down 3 times and had the **** beat out of him. what the **** do want? him to quit in round 11 like Cotto? he quit too right?

That would explain Chad's terrible performance. The guy was a statue in there. As I said before, I didn't like the idea of him trying to move back down to 168 when he hasn't fought there in six or seven years. Like anyone, his body changed over that time and it would be more difficult for him to get down that low these days.

Let's be clear on one thing. I did not start this thread to take anything away from Andre Ward. To me he is by far one of the most gifted fighters I have seen. I am a true fan of his and the last thing I would do is try to take any credit away from his performance.

I found out Miranda dropped Dawson in sparring, with all the details of how it happened and how it affected Dawson. As far as I'm concerned the source is as good as me seeing it with my own two eyes. I felt obligated to spread the news to the most dedicated boxing fans, here in ESB. You guys could use it as you wanted. It not only made good disscussion, it could have been used for other reasons. Ward by KO I saw at one place at +800. :deal

i can pretty much guarantee that many people that did not hear about the knockdown(or ko) in sparring bet on the over.

at this point, its fairly safe to say that something happened in dawson's sparring that had an effect on the outcome of this fight. to think otherwise is complete ignorance and stupidity, which there is no shortage of here on the esb forums.

thanks for the thread, Boxing Insider.

I think the knock down might have been a bigger factor than the weight. If you get concussed a week before a fight, you can not possibly be ready for your toughest challenge at a weight you have not fought at in years. Besides, this is not the first time, I have heard about Dawson having training camp issues.
