    Me too.

The other big advantage here for Klitschko is his underrated habit of ending his combos with a jab. By far, the best heavy since Holmes and why more guys don't use this technique I'll never understand. It provides the distance and range and the connect % of that jab after a combo is nuts. It just sets the table so easily for wash rinse repeat.

Sonny had another habit I don't like against this opponent--he falls for feints the 2nd half of a fight. Like when he's fatigued only, but he sure doesn't early. Falling for feints late against Vitali might get him stopped, seeing that he's the rare breed that does get late ko's.

Sure would be a nice fight to watch and enjoy though, but I tend to think it's a 1 way fight and not a back and forth type affair. The winner does what they want A to Z and the loser never gets adjusted or comfortable.

Vitaly would KO him. If Ali sent him into bolivian with a light punch Vitaly would level Liston with a range finder jab.

Don't get me wrong, Vitali would give anyone in history a hard fight because he's huge, seems to have a decent chin, has high output and has excellent timing. I just think there's a lot of guys i'd favour to beat him. Well maybe not a lot but enough I think talks of him being a top ten are hard to justify.

I think Vitali is better than his resume suggests. In the real world, had he not been injured, he'd probably have been the greater brother because only Wlad would have beaten him from this era and no way would they have fought. But the truth is we saw him stopped twice at his best and despite his great comeback his opposition of late hasn't been as good as Wlad's, generally speaking.

Sonny would have wiped the floor with vitali! Vitali is way over rated and cant even get any pay per views sales on tv. Ever since the brothers took over and have been fighting all these tomato cans and fighters lennox ko'd over 10 years earlier its a disgrace( mercer, briggs) Lennos ko'd briggs in 5rds, then 8 years later vitali goes the distance with him, plus Briggs was 275lbs, 40lbs over wieght. Lennox was at the end of his career when he fought Vitali and overwieght as well and still give Vitali 60 stitches.

    I think Liston beats Vitali.

First of all Liston had one of the longest/best jabs ever and Vitalis footwork isnt all that. So straight away, Vitalis height is nullified. Listons jab would be reaching Vitali before vice versa. Liston isnt no Foreman/Tyson who just comes in throwing Hayemakers. He was a much more better technically than those 2.

Liston would keep trudging forward and unlike Chisora who seemed to provide a certain blueprint (IMO) on how to beat Vitali, Liston would follow up, he wouldnt just stop like Chisora did. Liston wouldnt just be walking into punches, and he wouldnt be throwing predictable overhand rights like Chisora. I see Liston working behind the jab, physically manhandling Vitali and working his body and pushing him back and putting him under pressure. I dont think Vitali likes educated pressure, he prefers to be the one in charge, however Liston would not afford him that oppurtunity (neither would Frazier, Foreman or Tyson)

When the going gets tough however, one of these dudes may quit. However i see Vitali having more problems with Listons style than the other way around. Liston quit (possibly) against Ali because he simply couldnt catch him and he was being made a fool of, Vitali fights nothing like that.

The closest thing Vitali fought to Liston, was Lennox Lewis.

If we are going to use the 40 year old Vitali as a relevant to how Liston will beat him, then we must use the Liston from the Martin or Wepner fights. Otherwise, keep it to primes.

Not only did prime Vitali use distance very well, almost preternaturally aware of the range of his opponents punches but he also, and not well noted, had really good reflexes for countering rushes that tried to close the distance. Even this past weekend that ability was on display, albeit against a far inferior foe.

A compelling match-up none the less. I will say, prime for prime, Vitali employs his usual methodical beating but faces stiff opposition the entire way and squeaks out a decision.

Vitali doesnt have Ali's speed, and Liston is not slow.

It would be a KO, pretty sharpish

you surely mean who did Vitali beat?

Liston fought Vitali title opponent quality simply just trying to get into the top ten.

Neither brother can fight. Plodding, slow, no imagination and both have shown the tendency to quit when the going gets tough. Liston walks through Vitali like a knife through butter.

This would be too close to call. We haven't seen Vitali against tough enough competition to get a good idea of how he'd do IMO. He has demonstrated an Iron Chin and I don't see Liston stopping him, however I think Vitali's power gets slightly overrated by some. Vitali's size advantage would be a key asset, being able to keep Liston's punches out of range. However Liston's jab would always have success and I think it would honestly end in a split decision win either way or a draw in an absolute war. Both men get hurt throughout the fight, Liston may even eat the canvas, but I think both men go the 12 rounds to a draw on the scorecards
