good first reply. Maybe Shaunster is on to something, ever consider clinching more? Fighting a little dirty on the inside?
The best thing you could do is sack up and let them hands go. The worst that could possibly happen is you get hit back. That my friend, is how boxing works. Stop thinking so much, and let your training and instincts take over. Otherwise you'll always be up in your head, and will never improve. Good luck!!:good
most likely a lack of confidence in your own ability, I was like that at the start. the more you get hit, the less afraid you'll be of getting hit. you've already got the jab down, and as you say he starts countering that and you get hit anyway. so start following up on that jab and putting some combos together! try to get loose and fluid in your work
Just let your hands go. I was similar when I boxed. I wasnt afraid of getting hit but when I hurt my elbow I couldnt throw my right hand for ****in ages so I was extremely jab happy. So when my right hand got abit better I hardly ever ****in threw it. Its only sparring mate so I wouldnt be worried about getting KTFO.
