The biggest fight of the year is finally here, who you got??

I believe Chavez will stop the overhyped Martinez in the later rounds, due to the fact he is naturally much bigger and stronger, and martinez hasnt really impressed against limited, average fighters like Macklin and Barker, suggesting he is sliding and perhaps living off his Williams wins in a poor division.

Buzzing for it, but gutted its on primetime....big fight but not worth £15

Nah Mayweather Cotto was never gonna bring an upset, cotto had no chance. Chavez v Martinez is closer to 50/50

You can't apply the word "hype" to a 37 year old p4p no.3/4 with a 15 year career.

hype would be say, what Richard Williams had when Martinez went over to England as the underdog and battered the **** out of him 9 years ago. Then when he went to the Kings Hall in Ireland and did it again. that was "hype".

I've got Martinez, late KO. Chavez jr on 24/7 does not give off a good impression. It's like he's lazy, and not 100% committed. He's got away with it, because of his size and strength, but against Martinez, if he's badly prepared he's gonna get shown up. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, I don't know, but I didn't like what I saw from him.

Chavez jr is an interesting character. The son of a legendary fighter, in a way cursed. Cursed because he will always struggle to live up to the namesake, and people will always question whether he's getting opportunities because of his own work, or because of his fathers name. He'll have to fight hard to create his own legend, so that his reputation can stand on it's own. I don't know if he has the desire to do it. He has everything in life. He comes across as the typical playboy son of his millionaire dad.

Martinez is going to put a beating on him. Its going to remind us of Mosley Margarito, but I dont think Chavez is in the same class chin wise as Margarito.

i dont think the overhyping of martinez comes from barker/macklin, it comes from knowing now that williams and pavlik were nowhere near as good as they were believed to be at the time.

  11. It's not even the biggest fight of the month.

    Isnt Chavez the hype lol

Beat Andy Lee wow big deal, Brian Vera managed that. He also struggled with Rubio and Zbik.

    Martinez early or clear points.

I have an awful feeling that Sergio needs to stop him or he will be robbed, Bob Arum will make sure of that.

I can't think of anything bigger... No one cared that much about Ward vs Dawson.
