It means about as much as Pacquiao's win over Oscar. Although Oscar didn't do the chicken dance every time Pacquiao touched him And Pacquiao moved up 2 weight divisions for the fight. So he wasn't in his comfort zone either
Ward, no question. Even at this stage of his career. He enjoys home cooking a little too much so doesn't travel far but has ducked basically no one, beat the best in his division (easily) and improves with every fight.
But saying that i think their records are pretty even at the moment. I really rate Calzaghe's win over Hopkins. I feel like that is as good as any win Ward has
The biggest name andre ward fought was a aging mikkel kessler The hardest This content is protected andre ward had was a aging sakio bika it was "a life-and-death struggle". After the fight ward's mum said that bika made her baby's face all red joe calzaghe was 35 when he beat a 28yr old prime kessler and bika andre ward was 25 when he beat a 31yr old past prime kessler and bika jean pascal took chad dawson's 0 carl froch took pascal's 0 mikkel kessler took froch's 0 and his belt......... joe calzaghe took kessler's 0 and his belts and andre ward fights everybody's leftovers:deal
ward more quality (marginally), Calzaghe more quantity (by a huge gap, 20 defences). Ward only less than year in as champ, Calzaghe finished, one decade. The leftover argument is no argument against someone born several years after you, of course they will face opponents you already fought, it;d be vice versa if Joe Cal was the young man now... or who else could he fight? Essentially a failey argument. SOrry to sit on the fence but thats the truth. I like both boxers in their own way (no homo).
Ward, but it shouldn't be taken as dismissing Calzaghe who IMO is an enigma to fight against and a head to head nightmare.
