    Round 3

Martinez hurls himself inside as he anticipates a Vargas clinch and bodies into it. Jabs to the body by Vargas after Nady splits them. Vargas is taking slight steps in, nervously rocking to and fro and occasionally surprising Martinez with a quick jab to keep him from getting fresh. They exchange and step together into an up close brawl, both landing! Straight shots to the head! Vargas shrugs at Martinez while pushing him back, as though to say "Sup, esse? Didn't you want to go to war?" Martinez circles warily away, arms dangling past his waist. Jabs to the body by Vargas, forking them down past Martinez's gloves. They have another nice little exchange in the middle of the ring, Vargas getting the best.

    10-9 Vargas

    30-27 Vargas

Hell of a round. Nice exchanges in the middle. Vargas' straighter shots carry more power than Martinez's wider right hands. He backs Martinez up and wins the round.

    29-28 Vargas

    Round 4

Martinez is coming forward, pecking with his jab. Double jab on the way in by Martinez, trying to fall atop Vargas in a preemptive clinch, and Vargas catches him with a hooking blow to the side of the groin. Nady gives Martinez time to recover, and he takes less than half a minute. Martinez comes at Vargas with a chopping 1-2 and manages to shove him to the ropes as Vargas digs counter hooks to the body. Vargas claps over the top with a right hand bouncing off Martinez's skull but gives up several body shots in the process. Martinez shuffles back with his arms dragging, then gets tied up as he moves to circle by Vargas. Head clash, initiated by Vargas and bothering Martinez more. Vargas drills a right to the body and gets nailed by a HARD counter left hook as Martinez sinks back into the ropes to load up. Sloppy flurry by Vargas, rushing Martinez into a corner. Martinez fights his way down the ropes with uppercuts. Vargas digs hooks to the body while crowding Martinez against the ropes until Nady breaks them. Lead right by Martinez.

    10-9 Martinez

    39-37 Vargas

WTF?? Were Atlas and Tessitore even watching the fourth? They kept talking as though Vargas was doing all this great work, while Martinez had his best round yet.

Entertaining fight. Both guys willing to mix it up. Vargas landed the best punch of the fight, and carried the round.

    39-37 Vargas
