Hatton's presser shows he's still a big-headed clown

Former world champ in self-confidence shocker!

 

I like Hatton but wish he would stop going on about the Manny fight.He got beat and should just accept it.If he had not packed in for a few years and carried on fighting he might have been able to get a rematch and attempt to prove his point.As it is he just sounds a bad loser.

Did Ricky announce a channel or opponent?

If so, today was a complete waste if time. Most of us have known for six months or so.

 

Apparently he said it would be a world ranked opponent

 

I really don't get the hate for Ricky Hatton...........

Just what has he done to deserve the level of bile levelled at him?!

I watched him from his second fight, Robert Alvarez in December 1997, and right from the start I remember being excited by his performances and followed his career with real interest.

As he progressed and it became clear that he was a bit special it was so much fun and he gave fans so many exciting and memorable nights.

Then he lost, like just about every other fighter does, and it was against two of the finest fighters of this or any generation.

Then he retires and for whatever reasons he goes of the rails and does some extremely stupid and inexcusable things, but then again haven't many other 'beloved' sportsmen?

And here he is now, announcing a comeback and finally putting boxing back in the headlines for a positive reason.

How do I feel about news of a comeback?

Mixed feelings really, I would of course love nothing more than for it to be a huge success and silence the haters and doubters, but at the same time I have to admit that he is up against it.

I don't consider myself a real Hatton fan per se, there have been other boxers that I probably like more, but I would never consider myself qualified to judge his achievements negatively, for what have I achieved with my life to criticise his?

Just let the man get on with it, its a shot in the arm for the sport, and if you are a true fan surely that is what you would want? :bbb

:deal average fighter cherry picking fraud who got higher than his talent merrited on account of the amount of thick pubby English pieces of **** that followed him everywhere chanting football songs but knowing nothing about boxing. Fought a few bums then cashed out to elite fighters and made excuses.

wasnt too impressed with hatton coming back but its good to see boxing all over sky sports news in the middle of the day, and its good for the sport so best of luck to him

My only two problems with are:

He clearly ducked Witter.

Charging PPV for 'a thank you fight for the Fans' with Lazcano.

 

I don't see what the problem is, did not seem that arrogant to me. He's still haunted by his last loss and why not, must have been humiliating for him. He wants to go out on a high and who can blame him. Haters gona hate I guess...
