On a scale of 1-10, how overrated is Matthysse? Maidana clone with few more skills?

    How is someone with "a few more skills" than another guy... a "clone" of that same guy?

    Your thread title needs work. Matthysse is the better fighter with the better chin. Period.

    -Second best at JWW to Danny Garcia.
    -W's over Soto, Ajose, Corley, Harris (Harris win should be regarded as a 4 round TD win, honestly)
    -I thought he beat Alexander by 1 point and thought he lost to Judah by 1 point. Either way, as quality of close SD L's as possible.
    -He KD's everybody he fights, multiple times mostly. Guys that don't often go down.

    He isn't overrated at all, he is one bad mother****er. Seriously, I like fighters like Rios and Maidana but you can see their flaws and that they can be outboxed. I just don't see that with Matthysse, I think maybe Marquez could beat him but Marquez is a ****ing legend.

    Matthysse is the real deal!

    what got my attention... just a couple years back, wasn't Maidana the most feared fighter at his weightclass? Even now, still he poses as a risky fight for anyone and i'd classify him as a B+ gatekeeper.

    Saying Matthysse is like Maidana but with a few more skills bumps him to A- caliber in my book then. This is good enough to be a legit champion. Top elite/P4P'r? No
