The difference between Dawson and De La Hoya(well ONE of the differences) was that Dawson rehydrated right back up to his normal weight for the Ward fight. He weighed in the mid 180s. Oscar actually only put on a couple of pounds overnight which showed something was wrong. Have a look at pics of Ricky Hatton on the weighing scales when he fought at 140. He looked skeletal and extremely unhealthy but it didnt seem to trouble him too much. He put on 15 lbs and went to work the next night
I don't wanna make this a Pac thread at all, was just making an example of someone weighing 2 pounds below the limit and being drained. However what you said is untrue and inaccurate. Oscar fought Forbes at 150 so he only came down 3 pounds, not an entire division. Second the situation is different to Dawson vs Ward because while Dawson fought in Ward's division, Pac had to move up 2 entire divisions to face Oscar.
funny thing... if you REALLY think about it.... most peeps are used to seeing him at his fat-ass stage (or really, a normal thickness of an "average" person). The funny thing, most fighters dont walk around at an average thickness. If you're used to seeing Junior at his fat-ass stage so much, seeing him cut down drastically to make weight will make you think he's weight drained... The problem is that he don't have enough discipline to keep himself at a respectable weight in the FIRST ****ING PLACE! If he did, then his cutdowns wouldnt look so drastic to idiots who dont know better... as some had shown - in reality, he looks comparable and similar to many other boxers at weigh-ins
I hope you're right because I want to see a good fight. I also wouldn't mind seeing Chavez win because I think he could be a superstar and great for the sport. I like him a lot and did think he could pull off the upset. I'm just really skeptical because of this weigh in. If he does enter the ring at a good weight for him, that's fine, but I suspect he'll be a bit lighter than usual because he's starved himself to make 160. I don't think he looked strong at all. He looked much better on the scales against Lee. Credit to him though, if he was struggling with the weight. Some fighters would pull out or stop attempting to make weight but he did it the respectable way.
Who is he going to beat at 168??? Froch KOs him easy(even though Chavez has amazing chin), Ward wins UD winning every second of every round, even glass chin Bute could possibly beat him, Kessler beats him etc , he will not have size and weight advantage he has now so he will lose to many guys at 168!!!
Seriously shut up with that he only came down 3 pounds, thats bull****, he had trouble to come down from 154 to 150 for the Forbes fight. So you need to take Mannys balls out of your ****ing mouth and learn about this sport for **** sakes..... He didnt only have to come down 3 pounds he had to come down another division period! its easier to move up than it is to move down But I wouldnt expect your sorry ass to know you honesty believe the **** your saying
Saying Oscar had to come down a full division because he was at 154 before the Forbes fight is like saying that Pac had to move up 3 full divisions because he fought at 130 before the Diaz fight.
This:deal It's called stamina and conditioning. If you are the champ you keep your ass fit. If you come to the fight looking like **** it's your fault. No ****ing excuses.
Chavez looks like his normal self when he's cutting weight. You guys are making a big deal out of nothing. He'll easily be around 180 tomorrow night.
