So big headed that he said he doesn't deserve to be mentioned alongside Khan, Brook and Malignaggi right now and has to prove in November that he has enough to give to warrant fighting that level of opponent. Oh well at least his return gives Betty something to do.

Fought three of the best fighters p4p in the business in his career, the OP is a ******ed and deluded hater. Which is three more than 99% of the fighters out there have on their resume.

I am not particularly a fan, but give credit where it is due:yep

It is true Ricky would go to some right dives in Ashton rather than the VIP bars in Manchester

Hatton was a fraud, as a person and a fighter

Khan can get all the **** he wants, but Hatton would never have stepped into the ring with the likes of Maidana, Peterson or even Garcia.

"but he fought Pacquiao and Mayweather!!!"

That's ****ing easy, low risk high reward, if he loses, he gets paid mammoth and lost to the p4p best.

Fact is Hatton retired just as the lww division was getting hot (khan, maidana, Bradley, Alexander)

If Hatton steps up in 2005/2006 to face Cotto instead of people like Carlos ****ing Maussa, then Hatton never sees those paydays

He should have an easy first fight, he hasn't fought in 3 years and looked shop worn and past it when he last did. And I'm not even talking about the Pacman destruction but he looked a shadow of his peak in the Lazcano fight too. I wasn't impressed by the Malignaggi win either as a prime Hatton would have pressed far more, got inside more and stopped him a lot earlier in my opinion.

Hatton beat better fighters than Peterson in his WBU reign of non-terror.

He's a ****ing journeyman, a decent-ish outside fighter who morphed into a diesel tractor of a pressure fighter and made Khan look awful.

:deal why can't people see this? The love for the man just blinds them to everything. Ricktards are the worst fanboy group in boxing history.

Well actually it does because it's true. He utilised his huge British draw power to get him big money fights which tended to be high reward low risk. After being KO'd by floyd his whole attitude changed to one of aloofness where he seemed to think he was above fighting anyone who isn't floyd, Dela Hoya or pacquiao PPV material. People like Witter, Bradley, Torres ect were not getting a look in despite being his closest rivals at 140.

Don't forget he never really wanted the pacquiao fight in the first place. He was banking on Dela Hoya at wembley it was done and dusted! Now don't tell me that was about anything other than money! He was forced into pacquiao unexpectedly when pacquio whopped Dela hoyas arse against the odds. He was devastated when oscar got destroyed you could see it in his face when sky interviewed him and he knew hi money plan had been ****ed up and that now he gunna be thrown to pacquiao who looked unstoppable then.

BTW, I believe oli's story, it seems plausible :good

I like Hatton but again there seems to be a misconception that you can't fond aspects of your favourites utterly detestable. Talking about himself in the third person, avoiding Witter when it was a really important fight for the division, talks of 'P4P' and his 'man of the people' bollocks (which is UTTER BULL****) wind me up but I'm still a fan.

The WBU reign of excellence bRought us some good fights with some decent opponents, but I agree with Strike; Ricky has been shot since after the Mayweather fight. He was out on his feet against Lazcano for ****s sake, and it was Paulie's lack of pop that masked how far Ricky had slipped.
