Ricky Hatton is going to turn some heads and heres why

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Phill-Mitchell, Sep 14, 2012.

  1. It seems everyone is writing slick Rick off, and that's a mistake.

He is 3 years older, but still only 33, he's a young man and the time off was needed

But he has one positive, and it's BIG.

Ricky Hatton is not going to be WEIGHT DRAINED.

He's only a shade over 150 now, with training camp yet to go.

Ricky Hatton, for the First time in a LONG time, will step on the scales, a HEALTHY man.

This will increase his strength, stamina, punch resistance.

You wait, Hatton will flatten somebody, and then it's on to take out the trash (khan)

He may be a 'young man'. But have you seen him? He looks older than you, Phil.

Is three years enough to recover from that concussion he got in his last fight?

Rick was never slick. And this comeback will not go well for Ricky.

    Wake up to yourself.

He'll fight 1 or 2 hand picked opponents possibly from lower weight classes then get ktfo again when he steps up to the elites again at this stage of his career all the while his dumb fans will cough up their $$$$ to watch it and believe every world Wicky states as he fights for another p4p crown.:patsch

It would be nice but the manner he walked away makes me wonder if he will really come back with the fire. In a similar situation Ray Mancini found himself in the locker room thinking "What the F am I doing here?" Maybe a fight or two so he doesn't end on a loss and then I see him retiring again.

ricky can come back. the guy got a lot of heart, i'm sure he worked hard to get back in shape so i don't think he will just get his ass kicked. i do think he should take about 2-3 warm ups before a top guy.

hatton will get severely beaten the first top ten fighter he faces. ya don't get ko'd like he did against pac and come back at a high level. all I can figure is he needs the cash.

Frankly I'd be amazed if he can get by Witter at this point. That said, welcome back Rick, boxing missed you.

I am a huge Hatton fan and love watching him fight, but I think he should stay retired.

  12. Lol **** happens, getting ko'd don't destroy your chin for life neccasarily.

You ever see Ruiz/Tua? Ruiz got sickeningly ktfo

    His chin was alright after.

Plus it was the weight drained that did half the damage

I think he is done, but using your forumla, I would add that his only two losses are to probably the two best fighters of this generation.

Apart from Mayweather Or Pacquiao, Hatton will still be a tough opponent for anybody at 140-147. He's a rough fighter, he can fight dirty if he has to, but his body shots and foot work will cause a lot of people trouble. Don't forget, he fought Pacquiao and Mayweather at pretty much their prime. Not many active fighters @ 140 or 147 have fought and beat both Pacquiao or Mayweather, let alone in their primes.

Bless him. I wish him nothing but success. Even if he just fights B class fighters for more money than he should get, He's more than deserving of a "victory lap". The guy always came to fight and had personality, to boot. Boxing needs more fighters like that.
