The bench press was his strong point.

The Tua that fought against Ike is going to gas in this fight?

Ezzard has too much ring smarts for the likes of Tua to be competitive,a lucky power shot from the big man is the only way I see him beating Charles.

Very good point PP leaning towards Tua because of this. There's no way Charles could take David's power and I just cant see him not landing all night long, especially if it was a 15 rounder.

see, i can't get behind this. charles took a LOT of flush shots from rocky in those fights without going down, without being visibly hurt. he was ground down eventually but I don't believe that a grazing blow from tua is more powerful than suzie q.

it took tua a LONG time to finish off maskaev. tua also couldn't finish of rahman in the second fight (yet to watch it though), couldn't hurt lewis when he landed flush, and was way too easy to discourage with a decent jab.

tua's punch was great and if landed cleanly, could turn a fight around. but a grazing blow from him was just a really powerful grazing blow. it wouldn't knock out a fighter of charles calibre. nor do i believe a single left hook would do the trick. tua would have to grind charles down and he lacks the skill and ability to do so

I picked Charles by decision. Sure Tua could catch him late and KO him. Absolutely. However, I think a top form Charles is too fast, too skillful, and had good enough footwork and condition that he wins most of the rounds and makes it to the final bell. Biggest problem with Tua is though he was powerful and kept coming, he was not particularly that relentless or fast with his hands or feet on a consistent basis. He was more of a methodical plodder without a lot of speedy footwork and nonstop relentless fast blows, and I'm not sure he would put enough heat on Ezzard to catch up to him. Sure Tua could throw a lot when he wanted to, but then he would not move as much, or he'd throw slower arm punches when he was busy. That something extra to win against a guy like Ezzard was missing, I think. But reasonable minds could differ. Tua was one of those guys you can't count out at any time in a fight, so it would be interesting.

i think charles is one of the greatest lb for lb fighters ever but i think tua puts him to sleep at some point in this matchup. tua just too big. charles didn't take the best shot either. down several times and stopped 7 times in all.

You do realize that Tua-Ibeabuchi set the record for heavyweight punch output over 12 rounds, right?

A prime, properly trained Tua might do a lot of things to the negative, but tire out is not one of them.

Thrilling fight but totally different fighters. Charles feints, steps, slips, weaves, set ups, tricks just too smart. People on this forum regard power over brains when that's total bull****.

A prime Tyson and 90's Tyson had the same power except the prime Tyson was smarter and offensively he was unbelievable.

Charles would destroy Tua. Charles hit hard, and punched sharper. He had way more skills. Tua is a fat, steroid filled no-skilled slob ho could punch, if you stay still for him. Charles would take him out in about 5 rounds. If Tua lasts--and I doubt it--he would lose almost every round.

 Ezz does NOT take out Tua, that is about the least possible outcome. Ezz was a sharp punchers, very accurate, very good timing but he wasn't even a big puncher at light heavy let alone at heavy against a guy with a granite chin.

If Tua ate the 3 punch combo of Lewis like it was breakfast, sorry man but Tua is not getting knocked out.
