I thought my comment would be funnier without telling I was sarcastic. But people clearly need a sign these days. It was just a joke :bbb
Ibragimov and Chagaev would win a wide UD over Mavrovic easily. They are on totally different level. Not to mention, they are southpaws and Lennox never fought a southpaw in his career. Mavrovic is on the same level as Ustinov or Dimitrienko. A good fighter, but extremely limited.
Are you ****ing serious? How about the top contenders through the years? How about the guys that Wlad fought? How about Eddie Chambers, Ruslan Chagaev, David Tua, Evander Holyfield, and a rematch with Chris Byrd (which Vitali NEVER asked for). If you look at Boxrec you'll find a dozen more top contenders and former champs that Vitali ducked.
Not so much the opponent himself, but the scenario in which Vitali dominated him. Sam Peter. 4 years inactive and two surgeries. No tuneups. Total one sided thrashing. First time in heavyweight history that had been done, where the former champion came back with no tuneups, cold, after that long, and destroyed the current champion like that.
I think the Chisora win is a close second. And again, not due to the opponent level quite as much as the scenario. Vitali with one arm out of commission, still dominated Chisora.
Stylistically sanders. He'd just destroyed wlad and they were arguably the best two heavyweights at the time of the fight. Plus sanders had a similar start. He'd baited, countered and nailed vitali who took it, recovered and proceeded to beat up sanders. Legacy wise the Peter win was great, amazing accomplishment given the circumstances. Nothing else comes close to them 2.
