Could Julian Jackson have come close to denting Hagler's whiskers?

This. Jackson hit even harder than Hearns. And as you state, anyone can be KO'd.

If Hagler dropped his hands, smiled a Julian, and allowed Jackson to tee up with he best shot, Jackson would knock Hagler out with one punch.

In a fight, however, it's unlikely Jackson lands with enough authority to accomplish any true, lasting damage.

I don't think Hagler could take Jackson's best work flush(Who could?), but I don't think he'd have too, if that makes sense, and I can all but guarantee he'd soak up what he could get away from or block.

Jackson could hurt any 154-160lber. McCallum said he got hit and didn't know what happened to his legs. and we all know McCallum has an A-grade chin. One fight of Jackson's that is strange to me is vs. Eduardo Ayala. I mean, I don't know how flush some of Jackson's punches were, but Ayala somehow survived 10 full rounds without really being in trouble at all. sure he was holding and grabbing, but he was still getting hit.

Ofcourse Jackson could knock out Hagler.

In a fight I'd expect the opposite outcome though.

Jackson would hurt him, but with with even less of a reaction than he got from McCallum.

Then Hagler would tear him to pieces. Jackson would hurt anyone he caught, but he picked his shots as well. Hagler's jab would stop Jackson finding the space too often.

Hagler did respond, but he didn't go down like most did with that kind of Hearns punch. Hagler's right leg gave way and he backed out of there and then he was sort of swiping at that side of the face where he was hit. But he regrouped and backed up Hearns after that.

Julian Jackson could crack any chin. He'd almost always get battered by Hagler, but obviously he's capable of hurting him, even with just one shot.

He could have KOed Hagler if he got open shots to do so (Suppose Hagler got distracted by a girl in the crowd). It's all academic, though. Hagler wouldn't allow himself to get hit so cleanly. Hearns did stun Hagler a tad, but nothing severe. Jackson could have done worse potentially if the stars aligned, but he wouldn't have.

 Also that was a past prime Jackson, with a bad eye who was at a weight he wasn't comfortable at. A prime Jackson at Junior Middle landed some flush shots on McCallum and although he was stunned for a second or two that was about it. Like others have said it's possible for anyone to get KO'd with the right punch, but the chance of that happening against someone like Hagler is very slim.

 already had a feeling somebody would mention this.
But whenever he got hurt he would go in survival mode.

I don't think anyone could KO Chuvalo while in survival mode without exhausting himself.

It did the job, he (nearly always) survived.
