Margarito - an overrated puncher himself - stopped him. A booze-added Kelly Pavlik had him on the canvas and if not for his bottle problems probably woulda had him out there. I'm not saying it's pure china, btw - but there ARE reasons to suspect Martinez's whiskers are not the sturdiest.
It establishes - along with his hitting the deck against a weakened Pavlik - that his whiskers can be damaged. Tonight, we will see if they can hold up to Chavez's punches. My belief - based on the fact that I think Martinez has become ABSURDLY overrated on a variety of factors, including chin - is that they won't.:yep
The worst prediction Zakman has ever made, he will eat his words. His reasoning is totally ******ed also, I expect better. Martinez to win relatively easily and Zakman to end up with an egg on his face. Way too big of a step up in class for Chavez JR.
you know the funny thing is, even if Chavez wins tonight, Pavlik was the worst style for Chavez. HE would have turned the Chavez fight into a brawl and landed a huge punch on Chavez and knocked him out. He loves styles like JCC Jr.
You can think its padded all you want but I think Rubio beats most of the people on the books against Martinez just being real man...... and Chavez beat this man clearly :deal
