Lucian Bute has a glass jaw, no question. And Froch sure exposed that china chin for the world to see!

Has anybody on this forum ever said that glass chins don't exist?

  6. Great post. And did you hear what respected boxing pundit Robert Ecksel said?:

"If you have a Glass Chin and you get hit once, the thing cracks like Glass."

Not that more proof is needed, but this is a final nail in the deniers' coffin. :deal

    Glass Jaws exist in boxing.

There are so many it is hard to count them all. They believe in unprovable MYTHS like "that punch woulda KOd anybody," and no matter how many times fighters get laid out cold or taste canvas repeatedly, they trot bull**** like this out to try to explain away the OBVIOUS existence - and commonness, frankly - of glass jaws in boxing.

Glass jaws are EVERYWHERE in this sport. Most fighters have them to one degree or another.

Would that mean Froch has an OK chin? Taylor hasn't put down many decent fighters besides him and Pavlik when pavlik dropped his hands and took like 6 flush punches.

i think we all already know glass jaws exist in boxing.

  14. Unfortunately that's not the case.:verysad

Still to this day, people deny their existence. That's why the ChinCheckers' role on ESB is so vital.

These terms seem to be used pretty much interchangeably. Generally, they are used to refer to fighters with pretty low punch resistance. But some also use grades of glass jaw or china chin, however, so that you have Grade A, Grade AA, or Grade AAA.

Similarly too, there are terms that imply vulnerability, but may not indicate a chin as weak as a glass jaw. These terms include "shaky" chin/jaw/mandible, or "questionable" whiskers, etc.

In short, many fighters have problems with punch resistance, the question is typically not whether they have them, but how serious their inability to take a solid punch is.
