He entertained the fans, which I'm pretty sure was his end goal (along with doing everything possible within his power to beat Canelo)

He was realistic and humble in the interview, acknowledged that Canelo is bigger and better, and didn't express any resentment or regrets whatsoever.

He fought his guts out, which is what he came to do.

100% pure warrior. He does what it says on the tin, and can rest assured that EVERY boxing fan who's ever seen him holds him in the utmost regard. :good That's worth more than 200k to a guy like him.

 

Fans love Josesito and disgusted with what Golden Boy did to him.

 

Its impossible to root against a courageous fighter like Josesito!! He did a fantastic job despite being outweighed, out gunned, and overmatched. WAR JOSESITO!!

Lopez v. Khan would be an awesome fight!!

 

He got a great opportunity, and made a great showing of his skill and heart. He now has countless new fans he wouldnt have had without this opportunity to prove himself against canelo.
Plus he got the biggest paycheck hes ever had. Big fights await this brave fighter, and its all due to his upset of ortiz, and an opportunity to put on a show against the sports hottest prospect on the worlds biggest stage. Other than an ass beating (which comes with the job) I fail to see any downside. WAR JOSESITO!!:bbb

Remeber canelos fight choice was Paul Williams, then kirkland, the ortiz, Lopez forced himself in the equation.

 

The ref should have watched the Ortiz fight before jumping in like that. It's not a popular opinion but i think he should have given the kid another round....or two

 

Great effort from Josesito, as ever! The man is a warrior and as game as they come.

I wouldn't have blamed him at all if he just turned up for the payday and took the easy way out early on because he was thrown to the wolves, but he really did show up to win and gave it 100%!

Massive, massive respect and love for the man, hopefully he gets more paydays to come yet because he deserves it as much as anyone. I'd favour him to stop Khan. The way he doubles the left hook ensures he WOULD hit Khan hard and often.

 

He WAS smart. Not only did he gain more exposure, and massive respect from all fans, but he probably also learned a great deal from fighting Canelo.

 

Watching this fight on replay and he was surprisingly competitive.

 

How was Rhodes top 10? Who had he beaten? He wa a euro level fighter with a euro level resume.

Cintron? Career welterweight. Was completely unproven at the weight...well he beat Angulo, but got KO'd and gifted a draw with Sergio, quit against Williams, lost to Molina

Mosley..old as ****.

Paul Williams? The ame one who had looked very shaky against Lara and Ishida.

Kirkland? Coming off shoulder surgery and they tried to press him into action injured? Ortiz? Has never fought at 154 in his career?

 

Josesito doesn't belong on this level. He can't win against guys like Ortiz without pulling off an upset.
A warrior, but he wasn't supposed to be matched up against guys like these.

 

Yes.. He is what's right with boxing... But damn I couldnt help but wince every time Canelo hit him with a power shot... I mean, besides the power he had the tools for Canelo, which is a lot to say about him... cant wait to see him back at 140 or 47...
