Have to say after all the hype Chavez Jr is still the average fighter we seen struggling with Journeymen a few years back,only reason he has been successfull is because he is so much bigger than the fighters when he enters the ring,Cruiserweight vs Middleweights,Andy Lee would have beaten him if there was no size difference..
i agree.. chavez has his ability to come in as a cruiser weight and nothing else... even when he hit martinez for the first 11 rounds flush (which did happen) he dident even wobble him... lucky chavez can make 160 because he would get brutally stopped by anyone his size

he displayed next to no technical ability in his fight tonight... even on the inside which is where a fighter like chavez shines i feel martinez easily held with him
He showed good defense. But he's only succesful if he can plant his feet and throw, and martinez didn't allow that. I think he learned towards the end of the fight to just throw out of position and he had more success. Martinez makes good fighters look ordinary. Maklin looked a beast tonight and look what martinez did to him.
