Why Was Froch So Much Better vs Ward Than Dawson Was?

    I was thinking about how much more competitive Ward-Froch was than Ward-Dawson.

    Why was this? Was it the weight drain? Or was it just Chad giving up once he got stung?

    Respect for Ward, but that fight was a huge disappointment.

    I've never been a big believer in Dawson, but he's better than that showing.

    Dawson is a lazy ***** that cant deal with movement. And Froch is a beast...... that said neither guy won a round vs Ward.

    Two judges had Ward-Froch like a 1- and 2-point fight.

    Froch got work done. Dawson just, well...

    Froch had some success in the latter rounds, but that was mainly due to Ward's hand problem.

    Froch won at least one in the latter rounds.

    Dawson took one of the early rounds, the 2nd I think.

    Froch is probably the most comfortable top fighter at making weight outside Floyd.
    Chad has always been guilty of having a low punch output and workrate.Throw in the weight problems and the undisclosed problems he had in camp you have a recdipe for disaster.
    If he'd been in with a real heavy-hitter he could well have been hurt.

    Froch is tougher, with more of a winning mentality. He'll fight hard all night regardless, while Dawson can be lazy at the best of times.

    Ward dominated Froch but he never beat the fight out of him, which he managed to do to Dawson in 3 rounds.

    Plus, Froch is just better.

    He looked pathetic. I'm not a fan, and even I started to feel bad for him.

    It was like the varsity basketball team against the 8th grade team. Just a joke.

    What Froch does is difficuilt to deal with, cast iron chin, mentally strong, physically strong, with power

    Hes just a terrible guy to fight from an opponents POV

    Dawson was not fighting " his fight " after the 1st KD and things transcended for him and gotten gradually worse the more he went looking for Ward

    Ward made Dawson fight a fight he cannot and continually caught him because of this, Dawson would of seen out the 12 if he played counter puncher, but Ward didnt allow it, he was too good, which had Dawson going looking for him

    Froch was in his prime weight and he was dealing with a Ward that had a broken hand.

    Froch's natural weight class.

    Also, Froch's intangibles seem to make him greater than the sum of his parts whereas for Chad it seems to be the opposite.

    People acting like this is the first time Dawson has shown signs of lacking heart he has shown this trait before now whereas Froch is all heart.
