I have actually come around to liking the kid as of late. But as I watched that fight I couldnt help but just shrug and say to myself "a blind man could have seen this coming." Consider the quality and class of fighter he was in there with. Martinez is the best mw champ in 8 years. think about that. top p4p fighter and he's earned that. a truly great fighter. Now consider what Jr has done (or hasnt) for anyone to have expected anything different. What had he done? The same thing to Lee that Brian ****ing Vera did? going the distance w/ Rubio who Pavlik ***** slapped into quitting on his stool? Lyell? Duddy? I love Manfredo but come on. He had a moment last night. A moment against a guy with a broken hand and torn knee ligaments. Its actually a testament to Chavez that he stayed interested enough to capitalize on that moment b/c he was being given a very discouraging schooling. Rematch? Same story minus the last round moment for Jr. Move up to SMW? Not a chance. It is what it is. He's a big strong kid but no one should be surprised by last night. Martinez is that good. Jr is not that good.
