I am the last guy to start a wind-up thread or troll so if your a chavez fan before you get all worked up know that this is just about getting more information. I've seen a lot of guys on YouTube saying that Chavez once again refused to take the post fight drug screen. But I haven't been able to find a credible report at any of the normal websites I got to. So has anyone else heard this and is there anyone with-in the boxing world saying chavez refused the test? Good information only please...
If he's a cheat he's a cheat. Whether or not he won. Money runs boxing and a rematch would make a killing so I can see why some websites wouldn't run a story on this but common someone out there has to know whether or not this guy pissed in a cup or not. With his past I find it hard to believe there's no one out there saying one thing or another.
Lampley openly stated during the fight(think it was round 1 or 2) that the fraud refused to weigh in.
I read an article and I don't know if I read it correctly but I thought it said Chavez made 3 mill for the fight and martinez only made 1.7 mill? Does anyone know whether this is correct? How can an 3-1 favourite make less? I understand that the Chavez name bring in pay per view buys but common?
Actually, his performance just SCREAMS PEDS: He HAS to be taking something that dulls pain. There's no way a normal, clean human could take that kind of punishment and just smile through it. Not even Chavez Sr would have lasted until the 12th, and look like the fight just started. (and Senior was also likely on something for most of his fights.)
I think Jr doesn't deserve a rematch. He was raped last night for 11 rounds. If the rematch does occur it will be on Sergio's terms. Sergio needs to pick the fights tht will get him more money and or titles. Just look at Jr's 3 million against Sergio's 1.3mill?
Ring's Lem Staterfield reported that Chavez made 3 mil and Martinez made 1.4 mil. I'd be inclined to believe those figures. My hope would be that there were some PPV bonus attached to each too but I've heard nothing about that. I can definitely see Jnr making double what sergio made simply because he's mexican, his dad is a legend and it was mexican independence day. I mean **** they packed the T&M and there was a sold out MGM right down the street. No country gets behind boxing like Mexico does and money has to be respected in boxing.
