Why can't Martinez step up to face Ward? Why is it always on Floyd?

    I almost forgot...

Martinez (or maybe it would be Ward's name first?) vs. Ward at a catchweight of 164, who wins?

He should fight Ward. And next he should fight Vitali.
Are you kidding? He is too small to smw.

That's kinda my point. I don't think Martinez needs to step up to face Ward, neither do i think Floyd needs to step up to face Martinez.

Unlike you, I ain't gonna give anyone **** about not wanting to jump into the ring with someone much bigger & stronger.

Martinez deserves to get his payday which would happen vs Mayweather. Martinez will also realize how its like to be in the ring and not be the best athlete in it or have the faster hands.

160 is an interesting division IMO. If you lose 3 Lbs. you shouldn't have much problem getting a fight at 157 vs. a top 154 Lber. Also, you shouldn't have much problem getting a top 168 Lber to drop 4 Lbs. to make a fight at 164 Lbs.

IMO, Martinez would be fine from 157-164 Lbs. vs. any JMW, MW, or SMW out there.

So now size is an issue? So I guess that discredits Mayweather's wins over Hatton and JMM....

    - Mayweathers last fight was at 154
    - Mayweather has won titles at 154.
    - Martinez can fight at 154
    - They both have shown they can fight comfortably and succesfully at that weight.

    --------------------------------

    - That is Mayweather biggest challenge and fight in his career, against a guy who can comfortably make his weight.
    - That is Martinez's best chance at becoming #1 p4p, which is his personal goal in boxing.

    ------------------------------------------------

    As opposed to

    - Martinez has never fought above middleweight (a weight that is showing hes probably topped out at)
    - Ward WILL NOT do a catch weight (as hes already stated)
    - Martinez has shown middleweight size has given him problems, he is smaller then almost every real middleweight he has fought - if someone cant tell that in his fights with barker, macklin, pavlik and jr, they quite frankly dont know what they are looking at. With him being the smaller man against middleweights, why in the hell would I want to see him move up to a weight hes never fought at, at 37 years old and with a handful of fights left realistically? Makes no sense at all lol.

    --------------------------------------------

    BOTTOM LINE

    - Martinez and Mayweather have both fought at the weight they would fight at. While Ward and Martinez have NEVER shared a weightclass together and Martinez has no clue how he would carry himself at super middle.
    - Martinez vs Mayweather makes more sense for Martinez. Mayweather is considered the best fighter on the planet still... and the only one SINGLE fight that could put Martinez at p4p#1. Why wouldnt he want that?

Every logical point to be made points to a Martinez vs Mayweather fight. So much so that its frankly bizarre that theres so many people that are against it. However in most cases I know why

What is it with this attitude of whatever it takes to keep mayweather from being in a threatening fight? **** is bizarre. How could any boxing fan not want to see that fight?

A middeweight calling out a ****ing WW is ****ing disgraceful.
Especially when he turns down fights against MWs and SMWs. LOL.

Some people make too much noise over a few Lbs. I could lose 3 Lbs. eating a bowl of ice cream and posting on this forum

Have you ever wrestled or boxed before and had to make a weight? Its not even comparable to a regular guy just dropping a few lbs.

If ward is already cutting it close by bringing his body down to 168, every lb after that becomes harder to lose and when lost takes more out of your body (because youre at the point where youre losing essentials instead of shedding anything excess)

So no, a guy cutting it close at 168 couldnt necessarily just drop 3 or 4lbs without it taking a toll. Which is why you see fighters often get a few hours to get re-weighed after missing weight, go try to run it off and whatnot so they dont get fined and yet still cant shed the weight.

    Ward would dominate Martinez.

    Martinez/Mayweather is 50/50 to me.
