As much as i dislike chavez, i think he engulfs matty, the fact he enters the boxing stage as a light heavyweight/cruiserweight is enough advantage to favor him against anyone at 160. As much as it pains me to say this i could see chavez beating Gennedy golovkin, just because of his re hydration post weigh in's. when was the last time you saw sergio martinez seriously hurt like that in his entire career. even against ****ing pavlik, he didn't look that hurt.

You do realise Sergio schooled the boy last night?

Macklin would give Chavez a run for his money, but the size difference would take it's tolled eventually, chavez Jr is a scumbag of the highest order, he has to come in 20+ pounds heavier then his opponents to give himself an advantage, due to his average skillset.

Macklin wins, his chin is better than Sergio's and if he fought the way he did against Sergio (more backfoot work) then he has the skills to decision him.

JCC was absolutely schooled for 11 and a half rounds, I mean utterly dominated, he barely threw let alone landed. The blueprint, as they say, is there.

Unfortunately I'd have to agree, with Macklin likely a few points up on the score cards at the time too.
I could imagine Macklin outboxing him early, but once Chavez starts to find a way inside and landing shots I reckon Matt would just go to war with him. Probably taking winning half the rounds on activity but getting busted up from the heavier shots till the body eventually gives.

Not an easy fight for either man.

Yup, the 190 pounf chavez knocks him out in 7 8 or 9.

HBO will probably try to make macklin geale or macklin golovkin. For macklins sake i hope geale wants it.

Why does Chavez get hate for coming in heavy after hydrating when Pavlik and Abraham used to do the same thing at 160?

Macklin isn't nimble enough to keep away.Junior gets closer and closer till he batters him late imo.

He already did, but I get the idea.

I just don't rate Mackiln quite as high as some do on here, and he isn't quite in the same league as Martinez or JCC.

Probably not as much as JCC, he'll be re-living that fight in his mind(and the last round in particular) for a very long time to come...
