Geale should have been airing his fights live in Australia on free to air. He literally has noone else to blame but himself for his lack of notoriety.
This content is protected Now that is one interesting quote from Anthony Mundine, and it means there's no further need for speculation about a rematch :deal
Unfortunately it doesnt work like that. fighters have no control over the airing of fights. Free to air channels are not intertested, and fox controls it all.
Channel ONE dabbled in it briefly a few years back with local fight cards, and they did televise a Klitschko fight and Vic' last fight. But that might well be the last we see of FTA boxing.
And watch the nuthuggers scurry away :happy Good to hear Sergio is keen to unify, Geale is making all the right moves and deserves a big pay day
It does, if the free-to-air channels are paid to televise it, they will televise it. But once again, if they are too stingy to go that route, they should have been putting him in commercials hyping up his fights, getting his name out there. Just look at Mundine, he gets big PPV's by being a notorious ****... But it fills his pockets.
Mandy is a big name because of his football days, well, and being a notorious ****, but it's not because of boxing.
Ya Sergio is out with his knee injury for quite a while. Geale has until Sept 20 to decide if he's going to fight Golovkin or drop his WBA Super belt.
TV stations are not paid to televise. They purchase programs, and sell advertising, by means of ads, promotions and product placement. If a program is viable, they will pay for it, the same way foxtel does when throwing 15-20000 in per show for friday night fights. As mentioned they tried it with one hd, and I think Billy Dib managed to **** that one up with Bad sportsmanship.
