Its a bit wierd that he outweighed canelo by 1lb on fight night. If canelo outweighed him by alot i wouldet give him Any cred but i feel he has earnt it
Early 20's and people are hating on him. Were gonna be seeing him for a very long time 15 years at best when he hits his mid 30's.:bbb
I'm not convinced by that. I feel he should be pushed harder given how many fights he's had up to now. I believe he can be great, and probably will, but I don't think it would be wise to assume he'll still be elite level when he hits his thirties. Often fighters who start earlier fade earlier too
Canelo will be similar to Marquez (not saying they are on the same lever or w/e). Marquez is a great offensive fighter who takes punches himself and thereby creates excitement. Canelo throws beautiful, fast and well placed combinations with power but he takes punches in return. The moment a legit 154 pounder with power gets to him it will be a fun spectacle.
Great Power but no flair. Need to see how he handles a quick 'boxer' who knows how to use the ring.....and isn't 40yrs old
He is currently taking care of the 140-147lbs and I hear he will jump into 135lbs terriotry for his Dec fight....may be even challenge the Women's Champion at 127? Who knows after that....wait until Cotto is 42....? Cant wait for him to be exposed! Chavez down, Canelo waiting to go!
What you talking about? A 140 pounder running around with 13 extra pounds of FAT? lol! You kidding....you saying that Josesito was a "legit" 54? GTFO!
To be fair, he was looking for Cotto in December, but Miguel chose Trout instead. Just sayin', 'mano.
I hear you man, I do. But to Canelos credit, they offered the fight to Kirkland, one of the most ferocious guys in the division and the guy who Canelo should be fighting above everyone. Either A) Kirklands shoulder was still messed up or B) They turned it down because of the money. Depends what reports one believes. Either way, Kirkland was offered the fight. And the rest of the division is somewhat in limbo right now outside of a handful. Top 10 guys - Mayweather : not fighting - Cotto : Is fighting Trout, hopefully Canelo fights the winner - Molina : Just lost to Kirkland, hardly should get a title shot - Kirkland : Is injured - Angulo : Coming off a loss - Trout : Fighting Cotto - Lara : Scheduled to fight Vanes - Vanes : Scheduled to fight Lara That is practically the who's who at 154.... and while im not trying to make excuses for Canelo, as I agree his opposition leaves much to be desired, its not exactly like at this very moment hes swimming in a sea of opportunity that he can just call an opponent up right now and make a fight. Most of them are either not fighting, coming off a loss or tied up with existing fights on the way. In fact I think the only guy around the top 10 thats available to make a fight with right now would be K9, which could very well be his next fight.
i know Mosley was old, but he would have been landing those big rights and exposing his chin if he had poor defense. He gets hit, but he protects the chin so he's not getting wobbled. Alvarez is a massive future star. I'd favour him over every other 154 except Martinez right now. Alvarez vs Cotto is the fight to be made. What an amazing clash of styles.
