I like medium-level H2H threads. Bad ones, they require no thought, and I can just potshot them and run away. Really good ones, like this, make my head hurt and my bollocks ache. Medium ones are the key. Nobody really cares about the answer, you don't have to think much, you can still be friends with everyone. Make a so-so H2H thread, Red. Save us from this world of H2H thread extremity.
Again, Fenech was not exactly devoid of technical skills himself. I'm hearing this a lot, and people are making him out to be a Juan Urango-esque slugger, which was not the case.
Holy cripes, Flea. You'd have to be a genuine oldies cranksucker to think Hearns has a chance with Khan. Khan's faster than anyone from way back then.
Well apparently none of the modern fighters are allowed to have faults mate so I'd have to agree with you. Anything less than placing a fighter in the top ten all time of their division or the top 30 P4P is not acceptable for any fighter active in the last ten years, and essentially it's biased against them for being digitally realised and not captured on celluloid. So Khan would HAVE to be at least competitive with Hearns. Anything less is insane and narrow minded. Khan via split decision.
:nono I'm talking the Oliver Harrison trained Khan that starched Graham Earl, the pinnacle of Pak*stani-British handspeed frenzy mong kill :deal The split decision is because most people would want to rob Amir for his skin colour, like they did in the Lamont Peteroid fight.
I'm leaning towards Fenech. It could boil down to how you interpret Canizales' more accurate shots versus Jeff's greater volume and lesser precision. I don't think Canizales has the weight of shot to keep Jeff off him, but I also don't think Jeff has the game to just walk through Orlando. This would be a close one for sure. Push comes to shove I feel Jeff will go that extra bit harder and take the fight.
Canizales was a beautiful technicial fighter, and because of this, of think he gets overrated a tad. I ask these questions. Would Kelvin Seabrooks taken Fenech to hell and back? no. Would Paul Gonzalez have beaten Fenech? Hell no. Would Canizales have beaten Azumah Nelson at 126? no. Canizales didn't do it at the highest levels. He probably could have but he didn't. I'm not willing to make that leap. I think Fenech would overwhelm Canizales and possibly stop him over 15. Canizales would certainly have his moments, but Fenech's motor and physicality would be too much.
What is d difference between Ricardo Lopez and Orlando Canizales ? d 1st retired as n undefeated lightflyweight after reigning as a minimumweight and d 2nd retired n unstopped featherweight after reigning as a bantamweight . Both fought below mediocre level of opposition . Both actually fought no1 . Khaosai Galaxy at least stopped Israel Contreras which makes him a 1 hit wonder . Gaby Canizales has a good win or 2 . Gaby > Orlando & Ricardo Orlando Canizales and Ricardo Lopez fought no1 , let alone beat any1 .
Incredible post frank :deal :thumbsup Guys, this is the one time 'frank isn't a mentalist :deal Although I now see why you ridicule me for these beliefs, if he has 'em atsch In my defence, I think Lopez>Orlando and Lopez>Gaby. Even if Gaby has the best single win :yep
Facts are facts Flea. Coming up next: Danny Lopez vs Wilfredo Gomez Did you know Ricardo Lopez was a champion longer than Harada was a pro boxer. Fact sir. Besides who does Harada have that can compare to El Buffalo whom Flea once used the words 'greater' and 'anybody' in the same post, implying to astute readers that Alvarez was the best South American fighter every? I don't necessarily disagree. Canizales looks brilliant on film but that opposition is questionable. Maybe more than questionable... Flea brought up the fact that Fenech was not an unskilled brawler (watch him patiently take Satoshi apart) and against Canizales his underrated skills might, make all the difference. Counterpoint: Fenech outgrew 118 before he could get much experience (although he was still an asskicker) kinda like Roy Jones at mw. Presumably Orlando will have a vast.edge in experience. You could make the case.
