Chavez had that ass ready to go. Ten more seconds and that ass wouldve been out for the count. Chavez couldnt line his ass up right but I think he wouldve found him if he had ten more seconds. God was on Lickindicks side and he know it. I give Sergio credit, he knew that Chavez wasnt seasoned enough to fully exploit a situation like that and it payed off for him.If that had of been Cotto, or tripple G, his ass wouldve been outta there.:bbb:bbb
This is my first posting on here since the fight, I wanna rewatch it again because i was just amazed at Martinez's performance, he did better than i expected it was about as amazing as Ward dismantling Dawson for me Chavez to me surprised me by not going after him as much as i thought he would after dropping him add in 30 more seconds and i think Martinez had the grit and the balls to just get thru it
Chavez would have KO'ed him. He was very close to doing it as it was. He may have even really hurt him. He had plenty left and Serg had nothing. Looks like in one of those falls Martinez knee was seriously injured.
But, but, what if.......the fight were 15 rounds and 4 minutes a round, would Jr had KO'd Martinez? I crack up everytime I read a "what if" thread.
Martinez woulda made it still. Also, if there was 15 rounds then chavez would be even more drained than he was as they would have weighed in that day. Same outcome.
And they say 30 more sec. Chavez Jr had 90 sec and couldn't do it because Martinez was fighting back. It's not like the KD happened at the last 10 sec of the round or that Martinez was holding Jr. These people DKSAB
If Chavez Jr. was a better boxer, then he would've done it with the time he had. Martinez was fighting back with arm punches at that point, buch Chavez couldn't capitalize. Maybe another round, but not 30 seconds.
if you rewatch again, martinez was taking bombs. chavez's left and right hooks were mostly landing flush, yet martinez was still standing. you could see martinez's body sway every time they landed flush especially in those last 20 seconds and right before the second "knockdown"
There WASN'T 30 more seconds though. Martinez going out trying to get the KO in the 12th was what got him in trouble, combined with Chavez doing the same. If there was 30 more seconds.. If it was only 10 rounds it would have been a shutout.
Lol trust me, he knocked him down with nearly 2 minutes to go, and they want another 30 seconds for him And another round And In a 15 round fight Chavez would have won GTFO
Dont think so. Chavez ****ed up his opportunity imo Martinez had recovered and was fighting back. People are saying he was just throwing arm punches in the last 20 secs to keep chavez off so that must mean he was ****ed but it could also have something to do with his ****ed up knee?
