For a GB card that is a surprising low percentage of comps.

Could well be. Also, from what I remember, the Tarver-Kayode quadruple header had a gate of about $6.

Takes the whole "boxing is dead" thing out in the back yard and stomps it in the ass. I bet you both cards had about a million more watching them. Add to that the huge PPV numbers put up by Cotto/Mayweather, and boxing has had another banner year.

The sport is strong. We might be a niche, but we are a loyal niche who puts our money up in support of what we love.

I know it was a stacked card but to me this shows Canelo's drawing power. Against a crap opponent, with the son of JCC Sr fighting down the road in a much bigger fight, he gets 13k in LV.

Other thing I don't get is people were saying there was gonna be close to 20k inside the T&M so what happened to that?

This is a stunner to me and I'll believe it when I see it, but hearing the PPV numbers for Chavez-Martinez could go past, gulp, 500K

Obviously that is more speculation than anything atm. Wouldn't be that surprised though, the fight had a lot going for it to make a good sell.

Same time, same town, very impressive numbers. Boxed needed to show off it's not a one-card sport, there can be counter-programming a still 30k fans leaving 2 venues satisfied.
