Really? So you'll just throw around the insults and step back? Classy.

Do you think Martinez would do any better than Hamsho in Hagler's era?

As for me 'not really believing' well, bigger gloves, less rounds, less of the best fighting the best and a clear technical regression in terms of fighters makes me believe that yes, boxing has gone downhill in the last ten years or so. So, either you think I'm saying one thing to mean another or you think I'm trying to be cool (abysmal argument as no one likes me) but either way I'd ask you to consider auto erotic asphyxiation when your parents are out of the house.

I've never said Quarry would even win a round against Wladimir. He would not beat Vitali either, although I maintain that Vitali is not very good at all.

    Pacquiao is a great fighter.

Pantaloon McTwinkycawk loses out in the all time great stakes for ducking Lucky Sambo.

Clearly you are a big fan of Sergio and are hurt your opinions aren't shared by everyone and how it must make you a massive window licker.

Some tolerate me yes. But to think I'd say one thing just to act like I believed it would be a waste of my own time, which I value pretty highly.

Shut up Flea, you know I like you. Actually, I'm not exactly enamoured with the current (and in recent years) scene myself. I still probably watch a lot more from the 70s and 80s, early 90s than I do of today. How would Martinez do in whatever era, I don't know or even really ponder or get concerned about. He's a flawed fighter who's a bit of a guilty pleasure... In short, He's entertaining to me; one of the most fun-to-watch fighters at an elite level fighting today and always something to look forward to as it pertains to the present and immediate future. That's what he does for me, and I appreciate it.

There are few great fighters nowadays but then there were always few active great fighters throughout history (think 3 to absolutly max 10). Today it really just is Pac, Manny, Wlad and than borderline cases like Marquez. Potential ones like Donaire and Ward. I don´t think Martinez is will achieve greatness but he very well might end up in the HoF, same for Dawson I think. Not counting still active but very much past it greats like Hopkins, Holyfield, Jones and so on.
Sure it was better in the 90s but look at the inbetween time then and now, you had borderline guys like Mosley, MAB, Morales half-active slightly past it greats like DLH and upcoming ones like Pac and Wlad. And then you had Jones, Hopkins and a bit behind Floyd making his mark. And some past it guys like Holyfield trying to hold on. Was that better?

I think if you make a list of the Top5 fighters of each "era" today´s will fit right in with the average. It is not the best era ever but it doesn´t need to hide itself IMO.

Yeah, he's not ATG and he's running extremely short on time but he's got a chance to gain entry into a few HOF museums depending on what he does in the next couple of years. This knee surgery ordeal doesn't look good, especially for a fighter that relies heavily on his athletic gifts - entertainment factor, again - to be successful. Looks like he's chasing the Cottos, Canelos and Floyd (Riiiiiight) and I can't blame him although I'd love to see him unify 160.

Would you cheer 'Sexy' Sergio to take Floyd's head off at 154 if that fight happened in another universe? :yep

Yeah, I really like Sergio, but I'd take Floyd to beat him now at 160.

His right hand would be too accurate and he'd beat Martinez on points I imagine. Intriguing fight for sure though.

And one that won't be explored, unfortunately. Floyd will be back for another $40m payday or two, but it sure as hell won't be Martinez fighting him. :-(

Does it make your r8ing of Ali , Leonard , Jones Jr. and Louis even more pathetic ?

Coming 2 think about it , even Jofre , whom i usually consider d #1 @ 118 was mainly a hometown fighter whom either fought damaged not so goods or lost 2 a not so gr8 as u think . Or usually , just fought less than mediocre fighters , just like Zarate's reign 4 example .

R8ing them 4 their entire careers overall , Lujan has a strong case 4 outdoing Jofre (remember that he was not a serial hometown fighter) .

I´d love him to fight some worthy real mws. Geale, Sturm, Golovkin. But guess moneywise Cotto and Floyd make more sense.
