Hill was quicker, had better defense, better footwork, was more accurate, and more experienced. Hills chin was good, so was his stamins.

Moorer was stronger and punched harder. He fought as a southpaw but was actually right handed.

Hill by decision but he gets dropped.

it's a shame it didn't happen before Moorer moved up, it would have added a lot to his legacy if he would have become the best at 175 like Spinks

He wouldn´t have. Hill would have been too fast, too skilled and already too experienced. Hill UD12 Moorer.

I agree that his style was more suited for a heavyweight and I would favor Hill to beat him.

Virgil Hill is the most underrated guy who ever fought. His boring style hurts his legacy when he had something like 25 title defenses. No matter what a mediocre fighter will not win 25 title fights and be champion that long. Hill would win a decision.

The fight was as far as I know never on the table. there was talk of Moorer/Harding and whispers of Moorer/Williams, by no mention of Moorer/Hill.

As for the result, Moorer is overrated at 175lbs, he struggled with Leslie Stewart, who was dominated by Hill. Michael also struggled to stop some ordinary fighters, and his 'spectacular KO's' were often against poor opposition, with blown up records.

depends on the viewer I guess

I always thought Hill was a superb boxer, a pure boxer with a great left hand, and he's had some entertaining fights like Tiozzo I

    he's definitely underated

Virgil Hill by UD. By far and away the most underrated fighter I know.

he had some great wins, but the problem with Hill was and maybe this is why he lost to the top greats he fought Hearns and Jones and that hurts his legacy. More than what it should. Those guys were cream of the crop.

Hearns fight is one of the best battle of the jabs I've seen along with Ezzard Charles-Harold Johnson. Don't know much as Hill's fights are very hard to come by but he was a very solid boxer and had a very great jab. Fought the right way and seems like a very humble dude.

I see Moorer as insanely overrated at 175 but a decent fighter overall. Hill stops him late or comes close to get the UD.
