Zale before the war was a helluva fighter. It was a testement to his dedication and disipline that he was after to hang on to the title and have those great fights with Graziano. It was uncommon. With that said I think Hagler was the better boxer and just as good of a puncher. I think he wins a UD in the first fight and if they have a rematch he may stop Zale.
Hagler via stoppage in the late rounds. And what a war it would be. Hagler was too diverse and has the better chin IMO, as tough as Zale was.
Imo..Hagler beats every aggressive middleweight who comes forward stylistically...you would have to change it up to beat Marvin...and that ain't easy.
A bridge too far for the Man of Steel IMO. I rank Hagler just behind Monzon as an ATG middleweight champion....he'd dominate and tko Zale.
If Bennie Briscoe could hang with hagler, you know that Tiger would do even better..he'd get outpointed by Marv, but he'd be offering muscle and bone of his own all night and make it a real fight. He'd make Hagler have to box.
I agree with Red...Tiger would force Hagler to box...but he could. I'd pick Hagler in a very hard fight.
