power in both hands, good footwork, defense, strong, combos, kt was one of the most underrated fighters ever at 140.

tszyu and pbf wouldve been great.

Not quite, Barrera was clearly shot fighting at an alien weightclass coming off numerous losses towards the end of his career whilst Kostya was an active fighter who was still one of the best @ 140lb and hadn't lost in 8 years but he ran into a crude Hatton who took it upon himseld to smash 7 bells of **** out him for 11 rounds and forced the stoppage.

Willie Wise's victory over Chavez Snr was much more impressive.

I think Tszyu vs Phillips would have been great.

Did you not see a way past prime land flush consistently on him? Clearly the difference in this fight is the strength and power of Kosta. Its evident how he throws chavez around like a rag doll. Could you imagine if they were equal in strength??? Chavez kills this bum in his prime. Chavez landed multiple clean left hooks and right hands but had nothing on them anymore. By the way chavez was coming off a bad loss to Willy Wise.!!!

 I talked to Vince a month or so ago. Said Tszyu did everything in his power to duck the rematch

Prime for prime this would be a good scrap!!
I favour chavez tho. Dude has mad underrated boxing skills!
I think hth kostya gives anybody at 140 problems tho but i think there are 3-5 guys beating him, not that its a bad thing tho. Dudes a sure fire atg at 140

    Absolutely not!

MAB had shown he was in decline and was moving up in weight to fight Khan.

Kostya was still considered elite and was at his prime weight when Hatton stopped him.

Tszyu imo is just a very good but not great fighter.
Never did he face or beat a great fighter in his prime, and he lost to a very good but not great Vince Phillips by KO.

As for Tszyu'z victory over Chavez? The fight should have never happened.
Chavez did'nt earn a title shot, but got it because of boxing politics.
Less than a year prior to fighting Tszyu, Chavez had lost to journeyman Willie Wise, which is proof Chavez was done.

    Tszyu's credit for beating Chavez=zero!

I think people forget and if they dont know around Boxing circles of Kostyas life around the time of the Phillips fight.

He lost a court case for $4 million dollars when he had not even made that in his career yet.

Then the loss to Phillips then he was going to quit Boxing but he couldnt because he had to pay back the $4 Million dollars owed to Mordey.

I think a rematch was the last thing from Tszyu's mind in 1997/98.

People are harsh on Kostya sometimes and I feel a bit to harsh.

He was a great Champ one that if he was in his Prime today would make our sport so much better to watch.

He is close friends with Chavez now and he never hates on anyone that he fought or was involved in the Ring with.

There are not many like him anymore he never made excuses and still didnt when he lost to Hatton and praised Ricky in fact.

Everyones quick to bring him down all because his loss to Vince Phillips.

I dont give him much credit for the Chavez win and Im one of Kostya's biggest fans but also not many give him credit for having one of the highest Opponent win % against.

Ive done statistics on Tszyu's career compared to other great fighters and he is always given a heap of criticism for not fighting anyone great in there Prime but what people have failed to look at his percentage against fighters with experience and winning percentage is unmatched and not even Floyd Mayweather can compare with these statistics as Ive done the maths.

Something that never gets mentioned about Kostya that he deserves extra credit for is almost every one of his major fights were in his opponents country. Almost his whole career he was the away fighter.
