youre too busy watching old Tyson and Duran vids thats why  :nono

It was just on an undercard (HBO) that night, pretty sure Martinez was a late replacement and he amazed me and just whipped bunema's ass. paid a close watch ever since....and the Cintron fight made me feel for him even more :-(

I think kelly woulda got his ass whipped but im pretty biased. If i take out all bias i could actually see something like martinez/williams 2 but idk i just feel like p dub floating around weights an being so brave to fight anywhere from 147-160 got the best of him. He wasnt the same fighter he was at ww atleast imo he was faster an looked a lot better, could be his opposition, despite his tall frane he was a skinny dude

You think so? Personally I think Pavs would have gotten a mid rounds KO. But going by the circumstance I guess Pavs was having big troubles outside the ring so there is no reason that he couldn't also pull it off putting the pressure on and wearing him out.

I feel what your saying. I didnt mean how early it was but i think the devestating ko. Pavlik has got some underrated timing an his trainer is pretty good at pickin up on things during a fight. I think his instructions had a lot to do with him coming back against sergio. Paul has always had problems with leaning in. In every fight hes had it but against a much bigger man that can punch with pretty good timing i just dont see a very good outcome for him. An im about as big a punisher fan you will find. I still think he whips pbf ass at welter an thats the reason he never said **** about williams until he moved up

he is a great boxer, but he cannot headline his own pay per view unless it is with a Cotto, May, Pac, Chavez, Canelo who would bring the audience to the fight.

You think that besides hardcore fans, regular audience would buy Sergio vs GGG? Very much doubt it.

His fan base is very small. A lot of his supporters last Saturday were just rooting against Chavez.

Slightly bigger fan base then he had before the Jr fight.

Simply put, all sexiness aside, he has no charisma in or out of the ring.

Is the TS suggesting that Argentine fans didn't support him before he Chavez fight?

Started following Martinez after getting jobbed by Kermit Cintron. So happy to see what he's come to, what an inspiration!

Did his fan base grow? Sure. That's not that important though, the importance of the event was that casual fans now know who Martinez is. I work with a ton of casuals, and all the boxing talk has been about Martinez against Pacquiao or Floyd.

    :rofl :-(

****, I've been too busy paying attention to and talking about vastly inferior organized team sports. Boxing ain't no ****in' ballgame. It's much more authentic. :deal

I didnt see the fight live (I want to say there was a fight on showtime that night? idk... ) for some reason I missed it but I heard later that night that Bunema got worked by a guy named Martinez (no, i did not know who he was before that fight ) and I remember going back to watch it on the computer and being really impressed with Martinez.... never would have thought hed become a top p4p fighter though and im very happy he did. If he could just get a couple key fights (Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo) he could make his mark as one of the best fighters of this era, to do that at such an old age is insane. But... he probably wont get those fights

If he unifies the division against top rated foes and finishes around 10 defenses of the real title (that he won in April 2010), he's an ATG Middleweight just based off what he'd have done in his era alone.
