I see nobody who can beat him at this weight Class at the moment. Even the hard hitting Golovkin.

I'm talking about 160 not 168 or 154. Martinez rules it.

He rules it, but I can realistically see GGG beating him and Pirog giving him trouble.

GGG is pretty dangerous for everyone at 160 I agree, but can he hit the slick fighter like Martinez who moves a lot and moves very fast?

He needs to fight these guys as soon as time and health permits.

Hard to "rule' a division when you refuse to fight a top 5 MW

Say what you want.. but at 37 his time is coming to an end. Don't want to see it, as his career has been better late then early.

    :-((

    Chavez is ranked 4th
Macklin is ranked 6th (was top 5 when he fought Martinez, also practically split with sturm, who is rated #2 or 3)

    :-((

Macklin was #3 by various different outlets in March. As was Chavez actually, who fell to the 5-6th range after Saturday.

Martinez is a great fighter, but guys like Golovkin and Pirog have the power and skill to catch him and take him out unlike the last four guys he's fought (Chavez had the power but not the skill, the other three had neither).

    He fought 4.

    Macklin, Chavez, Dzinzurik, Pavlik

    Anyone else done the same?

I love GGG, but I don't think he's fought someone in the top 10 let alone 5.

Imo Golovkin is the best MW in the world based on skillset, but Martinez is the best based on skillset + acheivements + lineal champ. So until he loses, he's the king

Pirog is a bit overrated in my opinion

Chavez was top 3 or top 5 at worst.

And yes, Martinez is the king of MWD. Bow down bitches.

Middleweight divisions the last few decades haven't been particular deep relative to other weights. This isn't new.
