Thought is was pretty solid. Beltran/Martinez was a war. Macklin/Alcine was short and satisfying. Rigo's fight was the only one that wasn't overly exciting, but it was still a pleasure to watch his defensive styles. The main event requires no commentary. Even if you didn't enjoy the first 11 rounds, the last one alone was worth the price of admission.
Worth watching. Enjoyed the usual classy showing from Rigo, then a good tear up with Beltran & martinez. Then finally the satisfying schooling followed by some real balls-to wall 12th round drama in the main event.
It was a good show, not a great show. The Showtime card was better as far as I'm concerned overall. The Chavez-Martinez fight was a really boring one sided beating up until the 12th round, but at least that kind of saved the whole fight at least a little bit.
The undercard was weak. And Martinez bored the crowd and me with all the running he did. The 12the round made up for the whole ppv event. Rocky Martinez is whack. Rigo is boring as hell. Macklin is a hyped up journeyman.
It was decent could have been a better undercard but overall not to shabby. Wont lie & say The GB card wasn't on mind most of the night tho.
Boxing is about people with two arms and two legs. You could create a new sport where two man sit on two chairs and fight. Thr event was good enough because the 12th drama and the cuban glass shattering.
If you think about it, roughly 600,000 households in North America alone, let alone internationally and especially in Argentina, simulataneously shat themselves. It was a global shitting of epic proportions.
After a really slow start, it improved greatly and finished strong. Rigo underwhelmed, which he does often. The Macklin blowout was the only knockout of the night. The Martinez vs. Beltran bout was pretty decent, and the main even was really entertaining. Sergio put up a great show before Chavez stole it. I bought the PPV for the main event, not the undercards. The main event delivered.
