Sergio Martinez vs Antonio Margarito

margarito put more pressure but would chase the guy around the ring, he'd be constantly turned, is a much easier target from what i see. Alot of the things he does is, jab, jab, get close enough throw hooks etc. He does not have the punching power of jr and does not have the weight to do it.

 

Yes, unlike Jr. Margo knows how to constantly use his pressure to keep attacking. Jr. doesn't have the power or stamina that Margo has. Margo knows how to pin you by cutting the ring as well and if they would of fought that would been key right there.:bbb

 

Pre-Mosley? Like the one who fought Cotto? Sure, he will beat Martinez with loaded gloves! Without the loaded gloves, I give it to Martinez. Too much movement for Margarito. It will be like the Pac/Margarito fight. These two aren't the ones that fought 10 years ago.

 

atsch They did fight and Margarito got a 7th round KO. It was at 147lbs and Sergio was very green, so was Marg though.

Sergio had learned a lot since then and would have a size advantage. 3 years ago I would pick Sergio to come away with a UD

You saw how Pacquiao gave Margo trouble with his movement, imagine an extra 15-20 lbs and an extra 3 inches in height. Martinez would turn the Tijuana Tornado into a mild summers breeze

Margarito was simply too much for Martinez.Chavez Jr is obviously a great fighter in his own right,but he lacks that certain "je ne sais quoi" that Tony possesed in his prime.Martinez had that look in his eyes in the 12th round that an old war veteran would have at times.Those painful,ingrained memories of being walked down and physically worn down by a man that took everything he dished out and simply laughed in his face - it all came rushing back.

 

Margarito is not as big and doesn't hit as hard as Chavez Jr. His chin probably isn't nearly as good either (especially if he had to fight Sergio at 154 or 160.)

Sergio would stop him.

 

The only reason why Margarito won the first fight is because he was cheating by using loaded handwraps
