What's ESB's opinion of what happened in Cotto vs Margarito I

yes and you have to be naive to think otherwise why cheat for mosley but not cotto? along with the photo cotto showed us all in which margarito had no answers for

 

I don't know. The version of Cotto that fought Margo the first time was going to have a lot of difficulty dealing with AM's size, pressure and volume punching. Still, the effect that Margo's punches had on Cotto was pretty unnatural. So, I suspect that they may have been loaded, but I can't say for sure that AM would have lost otherwise.

I also believe he used it against Kermit Cintron and Golden Johnson.

Cotto looked like he'd been hit by a truck.

 

He did most likely. Based on what happened in a future event, it don't matter because his entire career is under a shadow of doubt.

I'm 90% sure he did cheat. Enough to vote yes.

 

He loaded his gloves that led to his win over Cotto, IMO.

 

Loaded or not loaded, I think that a healthy Margo beats Cotto every time.

 

I think theres a pretty good chance that he did. Nobody other than toney an his trainer really knows but all the evidence point to yes. Atleast in my oinion

 

I don’t know -- for certain -- that Margarito cheated.

If he DID cheat… it’s sad and unfortunate.

If he DID NOT cheat (or there is a mitigating circumstance that has been overlooked) … for me to say he had cheated, would be tantamount to me condemning an innocent man.

Therefore, IF I cannot be 100% certain that he, in fact, DID cheat… then I
have no recourse but to say “I do not know” and leave it at that.

 

i dont think he did, i dont think its easy to get away with, he got caught vs Mosley i feel if he tried vs Cotto he woulda been caught

i read in Nevada trainers get the wraps in a sealed container and officials and people were in there and woulda noticed

plus when Resto cheated the gloves stayed on, it was obvious and noticed in the handshake

Margo took the gloves off, raised and pumped his fists, didnt he shake hands with Cotto, Cotto's corner and ringside people

somebody whose been around boxers and gloves and wraps would have noticed, why didnt Cotto say anything immediately after the fight i feel a guy would know if a guy did something with his wraps

if he did id say it was post Williams where he lost because he started slow and didnt do enough damage to win

he comes out and KO's Johnson in round 1 an uncharacteristically quick KO

but he KO'd Cintron in 5 before Williams and then again in 5, if he wrapped wouldnt he have KO'd him quicker

to anyone he said he wrapped the whole career do you really think with all those high profile title fights in the US and such that he really would have got away with it time and time again

that would be more shame on the sport than Antonio if a guy could cheat that much and get away with it
