So Floyd was not a factor at 154lbs and should not have got a shot at Cotto. Dawson should not have fought Ward Martinez is a light-middle just fighting in the middleweight division, he gets outweighed by around half a stone or more fighting at middleweight. Behind Pacquiao and Alvarez, a fight with Martinez will make Floyd the most money. But it not all about money for Floyd, his health comes first.:scaredas:
Floyd wasn't a factor at 154, but he's the biggest draw in boxing. He could fight at any weight and be the most important fighter there. There was absolutely no demand for a Dawson/Ward fight. Martinez was 176 lbs 30 days out from the Chavez fight. He's a normal sized middleweight. A rematch with Cotto would make more money than Martinez. The vast majority of fans at the Chavez fight were Mexican. The vast majority of PPV buys were Mexican. He is not a draw. It is all about the money within reason. I'm sure a fight with Klitschko would make him a ton of money. He won't do it because there is a limit on the guys he will fight.
Don't believe Sergio can make 154, even if he can, he would be weight drain at this point. Then people would be saying that he was weight drain, that's why Mayweather beat him!
Sergio is a career 154 pound fighter...Floyd just won a belt @ 154.. Sergio doesn't belong in the MW division! Sergio wants lil Floyd @ 154... Floyd doesn't wanna see Sergio! :deal I know the truth hurts but it's alright... You could cry on my shoulder. :hat
I don't know, why is there a thread floating around right now about Andre Ward ducking Nathan Cleverly? http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=430612&highlight=Nathan+Cleverly People say stupid **** on the internet :silly
Sergio is a pretty huge name right now, there would be huge money in that fight. Makes sense to me, and seeing as how Floyd really only cares about money, it should make a lot of sense to him as well. One thing I don't get about Floyd and his family...They claim he is the best. Well if that be the case, why would his family openly inform him to not fight other fighters who also lay a claim of being the best? I mean he really cannot consider himself the best at something, if he doesn't prove it against the other fighters who can also make such a claim like Sergio or Pacquiao. They are both right there around his weight, and Sergio would come down to fight him. You cannot continue to claim to be the best at something, if you're unwilling to prove it against others who threaten your title, when they are right there within fighting distance? There's really no excuses.
No he can't make anywhere near HW and be healthy, and the same with Wlad coming down. That fight is realistically to far out of reach. Stupid question, even for a sarcastic one atsch
Wont fight the p4p fighter smaller then him, wont fight the p4p fighter bigger then him. I dont think its size that bothers the mayweathers.... I think its the quality of fighter they fight. If he doesnt fight Pac, or Martinez, this will be two top 5 p4p fighters around mayweather that he could have fought and didnt. That might be unprecidented in boxing history to be honest. Personally I dont think hes afraid of Martinez and I dont rule out that the fight will be made.
unless hes just not interested in fighting a pac fight still nets floyd a LOT more money than fighting sergio, and even though that fight is past its used by date in one way, it still remains the one fight both pac and floyd need to seal the deal on their resume people will post that floyd 'ducked' sergio if he doesnt fight him in the future - but they'll do the same with someone else in 6 months too - its a revolving door i hope floyd and pac get it on then retire - both of them
What I'm thinking is, if he wont fight Manny for whatever reason, then he should fight Sergio. He can't continue to not fight neither man, and still make the claim that he is the best. As long as he's still boxing, that's just the way it is, if he believes he's still #1 he has 2 ways to prove it, otherwise it's a false claim.
Not really. Its not often that someone in or near your weight are top 4 p4p fighters. Yes, there is always the next fighter that fans want fighters to fight (example : Fans wanted Martinez to fight Pirog, now they are calling for him to fight GGG) but its much more rare that a fighter will come along that is a top 3 or 4 in almost everyone p4p rankings, with the type of resume martinez has, that wont be smaller (where people will just bash on how much bigger floyd was - ala JMM who was a top p4p). There will not be as credible of an opponent like him (outside of Pac) for him to fight in quite awhile. Just imo.
i agree should be one or the other personally, i think floyd isnt that interested in fighting at the moment
