This. Chavez will be ripe for counters - see Williams/Martinez for a similar result

So he has a punchers chance which means he has next to no chance. :good

People are so ****ing stupid when it comes to Chavez these days.

"What if he tries to knock him out from the first bell"

"Chavez had a good second round"

Personally I think Roach should **** Chavez Jr off, he's clearly a *****.

  5. come on, man. what u said is so obvious. obviously, if they never fight again he'll never get the chance to knock him out. obviously.

If he's forced to drain that much weight again, don't bank on it.

I don't disagree with ya. I'm just point out Bandido's reasoning being very lose and hypothetical. It's boxing. **** happens. But the better fighter always has the better chances which means Martinez would most likely beat Jr. once again.

His post was perfectly lucid and well argued. Your emotional gibberings, however, are not. The probability of Chavez KOing Martinez in a rematch is clearly much lower than the probability of Martinez outboxing Chavez and winning a wide points decision. This is evident from the pattern of their first fight. If you choose to ignore this and cling to the faint hope that sprang from the 12th round (and was only made possible by a number of factors not entirely of Junior's making) then you're only setting yourself up for a crushing disappointment once again.

  10. i would hardly call my reasoning hypothetical. he actually knocked him down. that actually happened. he undoubtedly has the power to knock him out.

  11. "The only thing that makes it more probable is the fight will probably happen again, which creates the opportunity..."

that's lucid and well argued? you, sir, are a ******.

A lot happened during the fight. If you go by chances, then Maravilla has the upper hand once again.
The KD was awesome and exciting. But don't forget how pathetic a training camp and a performance Jr. put out too. And that is highly likely to happen again.
The kid needs discipline and he'll get an other chance later in the future. Hopefully without much help from the hype machine.

  13. i understand that and i completely agree with you. martinez will be the favorite and rightfully so... what chavez did in the last round was incredible. this fight doesn need any more hype. the hype is the 12th round.

Mike Katsidis knocked JMM down when they fought. Does that make you think he'd be able to knock him out in a rematch?

Your reasoning is hypothetical because you're making assumptions aboutChavez starting faster and more aggressively to get the knockout, when he showed no desire or ability to do so in the first fight. He was also unable to close the show in the final round, which again calls into question his chances in a rematch. Plus, Sergio was injured. You keep ignoring that.

Good call by Roach. Chavez fought only one round out of 12 and in the one round where he actually fought, he had everybody who saw the fight live thinking Sergio might not survive.
