    If you look at THE RING ratings these guys who are either RING champs or number 1 in the division have beaten number 1/2-

    Light Heavyweight- Chad Dawson.

    Super Middleweight- Andre Ward

    Light Middleweight- Floyd Mayweather

    Junior Lightweight- Takashi Uchiyama

    Featherweight- Yuriokis Gamboa

    Golovkin and Dirrell have no claim whatsoever to being the best in their respective divisions based on resume. The mere fact that Ward and Martinez haven't fought them does not change or challenge the fact that those two are clearly number 1 in those divisions.

    exactly, sergio is a workhorse and can make 154 and kick ass. canelo seems to enter his prime, pacquiao is still around. mayweather lost like 3-4 rds vs cotto, right now sergio is clearly better than cotto. there is no clear #1 at 154. also lara if he gets his **** together can be a dangerous opponent for anyone.

    160- Sergio
    168- Ward
    175- Dawson

    Not quite, but the next closest to it:
    122- winner of Nishioka vs. Donaire
    147/154- Mayweather
    HW- Wladimir

    Then the next tier:
    105- Ioka
    118- Moreno
    130- Uchiyama
    140- Garcia

    All the ring champs are clearly number 1. Floyd at lmw, pac at ww, uchi at sfw, gamboa at fw, nishi at sbw, moreno at bw. I think it's fairly good going atm to be honest.

    I'm a big fan of his. The only reason I am skeptical is due to Burns' presence when there was a close ranked #2, as Burns beat Martinez (who was Ring #1 going in, at least). When he moved up, Broner joined the ranks of Ao and Martinez as the next top guys to Uchiyama. Uchiyama has the elite big win over Salgado which gives him a lineage of decisive ranking in the division.

    But yes, you're right. Uchiyama too.
