I wouldn't doubt that this is an intentional rumor spreading scheme to get Haye to become more agreeable to Vitlai's terms.

Yes Lewis fought Vitali and retired, AFTER publicly promising a rematch and then watching him destroy Kirk Johnson and deciding Vitali was too dangerous. The public wanted it (we still talk about it 8 years on), Vitali wanted it....Lewis ran.

Vitali hasn't retired yet, don't get ahead of yourself.....yes Vitali fought a "bum", but he undefeated and was the highest rated available and willing challenger and it was an opportunity to make sure his injured arm was ok and make some money. Haye ran off to fight Chisora despite having yet another contract from Vitali on the table, he could have fought Vitali....but Haye saw that as an opportunity to make more money fighting Chisora who lost his last 3 fights, and the public wanted it. Again, don't apply the double standard.

Vitali announced well before the Charr fight that if he wins the election he will retire, it's not like he's running in reaction to something Haye did. Vitali has never ran from the table, unlike Haye. Haye has been the one claiming he wants to fight Vitali, but for some reason can't sign his name to the contract every time. Vitali has wanted the fight, the public arguably wants it....Haye runs.:deal

Now would be time for Team Povetkin to be a man and fight Vitali. A worthy fight for Vitali to go out on, and the best chance Povetkin has had against a Klitschko throughout the time he's been avoiding them.

 

youre putting words in my mouth, of course 20 defences beats 1 - think before youpost stuff like that - i said his legacy isnt enhanced if he keeps fighting and its just numbers hes racking up

if haye doesnt get to fight vitali then its almost justice considering he signed and backed out twice against each brother, before finally getting schooled by wlad and STILL giving an excuse afterwards

maybe if haye had been more respectful and not made all those excuses then he might have the vitali fight by now

dont forget haye is 1-1 as a HW in the last couple of years, and his win was against a guy who was about 1-4 in his last 5

I don't know where to start! Comparing Lewis fighting Vitali to Vitali fighting Charr!?!?! Justifying Vitali fighting Charr on the basis that he was unbeaten!?!?! Madness. Only on planetklit, where boxing was only invented when Wlad and Vitali started getting televised.

 

How can any boxing fan hope that biggest fight won’t get made in division, because someone was disrespectful to his heroes?

BTW Chisora wasnt 1-4 in his last 5. He was 2-3 before Haye and should have been 3-2. He had also just gave Vitali his hardest fight in years. So hard that Vitali had to invent excuse to justify the performance even after winning it.
