Thank you, I have made some excellent threads. I dont hate any fighter, and dont care where any fighter comes from. Odd thing to say when F Mayweather is one of my favourite fighters. I like to point out things that people have missed or that they pretend didnt happen, like people saying Calzaghe didnt fight Hopkins until Hopkins older when it was in fact Hopkins who refused to fight Calzaghe, yet people try and pretend that didnt happen F Trinidad is a top better P4P fighter than Lacy P4P, but when comparing MW Trinidad to SMW Lacy, it doesnt look as good a win for Hopkins as the Lacy one does for Calzaghe. Tito was at MW 1-0 in world title fights Lacy was at SMW 5-0 in world title fights Tito had been put down 7 times that I know of and hurt and rocked several times Lacy had never gone down or barely hurt Tito had looked lucky at WW in getting a decision that many felt he lost Lacy was always considered to have won his fights There were also things like glove wrap queries Same one that was inside the CW limit when they turned pro. Got to admire the dedication though Look at A Council and tell me who he beat to be a challenger
So bailey, in 1989 the undefeated Francesco Damiani won the WBO heavyweight title. Which means that, being an undefeated champion of the WBO, Mike Tyson wasn't the unified heavyweight champion, right?
Damiani got defeated by Mercer. Jacobs and Perugino never tasted defeat and retired with their titles
Years later, he did yes. By which point the WBA WBC and IBF no longer recognized Tyson anyway, because he'd lost to Douglas, who had lost to Holyfield by then, IIRC. However, in 1989, according to your stated qualifications in this thread, Mike Tyson was not the unified heavyweight champion, because there was a new boxing organization with an undefeated champion. Isn't that right?
You tell me the answer, I wasnt talking about tyson I was asking about Hopkins, I didnt say anything about stated qualifications, so stop telling lies
In fact. Shows Wanderer wasnt paying attention Read above. Where have I stated anything about qualifications? Never did.
Step 1: Everyone on ESB chip in a tenner each so we can gather enough funds to start a new boxing organisation. Step 2: Start a thread poll to decide what to call that boxing organisation:- - Universal Boxing Championship (UBC) - Galaxy Boxing Championship (GBC) - LOL - FUK - OFF Step 3: Everyone ESB chip in another fiver so we can register this new organisation Step 4: Grab any two random bums with undefeated records off boxrec and have them fight for the vacant championship. Step 5: Call out the undisputed champ and say he is no longer unified champ because he does not have the newly recognised organisation. Who is up for that?
Not quite. Ignoring the fact that the WBF and WBU belts have about as much validity as the belts in my closet, Perugino vacated his belt a few years before getting killed in the ring, and Jacobs vacated and moved to LWH before he retired (not to mention that his actual resume makes Deontay Wilder look like he's faced tough competition). Jacobs didn't even want any part of the English champ much less an actual world titlist. Oh, and both of them were retired/dead long before Hopkins' last fights at middleweight.
